I've raved before about this line, including the wonderful Ombre palette, which contains a lovely taupe shimmery cream eyeshadow called Mystere. It can be patted on sheerly for just a hint of shimmery color, or more intensely for an evening look. If I were on a desert island with just one eye shadow, this would be it. The only thing is, it's a small lozenge in a palette. Suppose I didn't get rescued for a long while? What then?
So I emailed the Julie Hewett website and asked whether they can any plans for Mystere (or any other cream eye shadow) to be sold separately. And the answer is "Yes!" Yay!!!
And that reminds me--has anyone tried the new Ursula palette? It looks great, especially for cooler toned folks who might have found Ombre too warm. But I'd love a first hand report.
(Incidentally, I'm leaving for another week on the road using Ombre as my makeup kit together with my beloved Odessa. I just adore this line of makeup.) |

I love the ombre palette also. It is incredible.
Ursula palette - where did I see this? On the JH site maybe?
Oh and I need to get that lipstick! Odessa. Flitcraft told me about this one before and I spaced it.
Tell me again why I want to get this - neutral - like Jules but softer???? |

| Ursula is a new palette on EDS, introduced just now. I, too, love Julie Hewett products. They are subtle and special and amazing. |

Odessa is indeed a softer, more neutral, version of Jules. Only instead of evoking brick red, it evokes more mauve crossed with milk chocolate. I know that doesn't sound appetizing, but it really looks lovely on.
By the way, today I nearly averted disaster. I tucked my Ombre palette into my passport wallet, which somehow slipped out of my bag while shecking in at the airport. Luckily, it was found, turned in, and they paged me. Part of me was shivering at the close call--losing passport and all my credit cards in New Zealand on a Sunday, with no way to replace any of them till tomorrow. And, part of me was thinking, Oh, no! Not Ombre gone!
I think I need to get some perspective on this Julie Hewett obsession I have.  |
