First of all, my RAVE!
I was in Whole Foods the other day and I asked if they had samples of 2 Dr Hauschka moisturizers I've been thinking about switching to since the Rose Day Cream is too heavy for me. They didn't have samples so the gentleman who works there grabbed some salad dressing containers and filled them from the testers. I got more than enough to try both moisturizers for a week! I love being able to try before I buy because returning used products makes me feel bad. Everytime I've been in there, the customer service is fantastic!
And my RANT....
This reminded me of a terrible experience I recently had at a department store in a very upscale shopping center. Usually I get good service shopping in higher end places so I was shocked when the customer service was less than satisfactory. When I walked in during the afternoon, the person who normally works the Clarins counter was at lunch, so a girl from Clinique helped me. When I first asked if they had Philosophy (which some of the stores carry), I was told to go to Sephora. If I had thought of it at the time, I would have asked to cash in my gift certificate right there and taken her up on her suggestion. Instead I politely asked about another item I was considering using my gift card on. I asked for a sample of the Clarins cleansing milk to take home so I could see if it washed mascara off. I was told that was against their company policy and if I wanted to test the face washes I'd have to do it at the counter in the middle of the store. This is not how you gain loyal customers, I don't know a single woman who would do that.
So I still have a gift certificate sitting in my wallet because I can't bear to bring myself into another poor customer service situation at a department store that so obviously doesn't want my business.
And I'm saving all my pennies to shop at Whole Foods who seems to only hire people who actually give a darn about making customers happy!
I don't plan on ever stopping reading this forum so it looks like Whole Foods will be getting plenty of business from me trying all the fantastic DIY recipes here!
Thanks for letting me vent! |

Sephora is always more than happy to make up tiny sample pots of anything your heart desires too! No wonder their stores are always packed even in the economic crash!!! |
