Now, back to bone massage : I just bought the program early October in Tokyo, so can't tell if it works, will update. |
Ahh! thanks for clarifying! Do you know the name of this new programme that you bought in Japan?
By the way, the name of the lady in the black hat is Yukuko Tanaka.
I found this little blurb: http://jstyle.25today.com/living/issue06/beauty-01.html
Moonstone thanks so much for your links. I was wondering whether you ever tried Flex Effect in your search for a facial exercise programme? |

Hi neondaze, I've been doing Flex Effect for a couple of months before discovering Ageless here at EDS. The program was way too aggressive for me and after 2 months, my face started to look really harsh and bulky, with deepening of n/l folds and laughing lines! I was getting a bit worried and stopped the whole program as things never got any better.
Fortunately, I responded much better to Ageless program. It lifts and tones my whole face within only a few months and I had wonderful results especially in the upper cheeks, under-chin and eye areas. Overall I like Ageless program a lot except for its bootcamp, which again is too aggressive for my face! |

Hi Dia, thanks for sharing the link but unfortunately I couldn't view anything from it. The body massage from Tanaka does sound interesting as I really like her facial program!
Critic, thanks a lot for all those wonderful information together with the link! I'm really glad that you have wonderful results from Tanaka's facial massage. Although I've only tried it for a few days, it really helps to remove the puffiness and brighten up my face in the morning! |

Thanks Moonstone!
I have Flex Effect and Ageless, and have been really lazy with both recently. bad girl! I haven't given FE a really proper try yet as there is something about it that I can't seem to wrap my head around. No idea why! Need to spend a bit longer with it probably. Though I think it is because it makes my face look slightly more square or something. Anyway I was interested to hear your take on it, so thank you.
And thanks again Critic, the Tanaka massage is something that looks perfect for me. |

Tanaka facial massage works really good, so far, I did not hear anyone said it does not work.
I also can't view the link of her body massage, maybe I will invest on a DVD Japanese version. In her book, she said the body takes only 5 mins/day and we should include in our daily beauty routine, like brushing teeth. |

I have Flex Effect, I was not impressed by the DVD (I got yelled in another forum, but I really found she looks quite horrible in the DVD).
Ageless - I tried for a while, thought it was good.
One thing I absolutely don't understand, all the instructors in FE posted VERY unclear before/after pictures, you can hardly tell how do they look like, not convincing. Same for Loulou, does she ever post more pictures? I don't really believe in the photo that she used on the cover of her program.
This 65-year old Japanese woman looks very good in the DVD and book. She is old, she has wrinkles around her eyes, but you can tell her skin is very tight and smooth. She looks 40+ in my Asian eyes. |

Most of the time, I couldn't access to the video link posted by Moonstone. Nevertheless, I managed to locate the face massage video in Yahoo; here you are:
http://video.yahoo.com/watch/5417375/14269296
Also, I found that there is a website talking about this technique: Zogan face-creation massage technique.
The Zogan massage consists of the following 11 steps and a warm-up.
Warm-up exercise to prompt the flow of lymph
STEP1 Improve the swelling of the forehead and the wrinkles between the eyebrows
STEP2 Remove the swelling around the eyes and improve the puffy eyes
STEP3 Pushing up the downside mouth corners
STEP4 Remove the blots on the nostrils and make the bridge of your nose higher
STEP5 Remove the deep nasolabial grooves and left up the entire cheeks
STEP6 Remove the nasolabial groove in a focused way
STEP7 Remove the fat beside the nasal wings not to make the nasolabial grooves appear
STEP8-1 Dissolve the sags in the areas between the cheekbones and the chin
STEP8-2 Remove the “bulldog line”
STEP9 Remove a double chin and tighten a vague face line
STEP10 Pull up the whole facial sag
STEP11 Erase the transverse wrinkling on the forehead

Dia, you are right, it is an very nice video and quite easy to follow. For anyone having problems locating it on MySpace, try copying the following phrase into your search engine:
Taiseikeijutsu/Body Massage Video By Kohei - MySpace Video
It should be the first hit. Copy and paste didn't work for me. HTH |

Critic it was in this forum, on a different thread - but hey everyone is entitled to their opinion, I personally think Deb looks great!
The before and after photos on the website are not taken by professional photographers, but often just snapshots done by the people doing the workouts themselves or caught on camera and we ask people to take photos for their own eyes so they can notice/see changes happening, its easy to stay motivated if you have proof in front of your own eyes.
Its difficult to police photographs - but I'd loved to hear your suggestions for how we might do that (its something I have often thought about at times but never could get enough feedback from others).
Not everyone wants to share their before and afters - I'm not personally interested in what people think, as I feel a difference and can see it myself. Having said that, our faces change day to day, so sometimes photographs don't reveal the true pictures anyhow.

Based on the little reading (in European sites) Zogan massage - is a lympho drainage massage and connective tissue manipulation.
Facial exercises work on muscles.
I got the impression that they could be complimentary to each other.

I think it has something to do with the camera, I have the FE program for at least 3 years, although I have not tried it, I checked the site very often to view the trainer before/after photos, it is very disappointing that most are still using the old photos after all these years. And how many people will have a chance to meet the trainers and Deb in person? |

Thanks a lot! I can finally view the body massage video. The video (on the top demo by a young lady) is the same DVD that goes with the book, I saw it in Japan, it is selling for approx. USD35 per set. |

I've had photos on there several times which I have posted in threads, but like most things on the internet, images can be stolen quite easily so I can appreciate people not wanting to post on websites (I had it done myself where I found some of my messages and photos were reproduced without my permission on a website and it took ages to get them down, and the person who used my photos and information was giving out advice that I think was kind of completely uneducated and could cause more problems). However, I hear what your saying, you want new photos up there. It be great to workout some guidelines or suggestions for photos - you sound like you have a knowledge of them, so would love to hear your recommendations for photos. Photos can be airbrushed (just look at cosmetic companies etc) but I'm sure many people would be willing.
Re meeting a trainer or Deb, well Deb has the new dvd coming out soon - so you can see her face on that?
I think some people use it as an argument not to do the exercises, and thats sad because I truly believe its their loss - but they're entitled to their beliefs and I respect that.

Toby,
It sounds, from your post, that you may be able to understand the bone face exercises....
while the lymphatic/connective tissue massage is clear enough to me from the video...I still have trouble understanding the bone facial massage..which is what truly interests me.
If you have any personal insight, please post.
Critic,
I also appreciate all the links you have given for the bone face exercise.. but since I, very unfortunately, don't speak any Asian language, I can't personally make use of them at this time. Too bad for me that this exercise concept is not translated into English..if you have any insights about the technique and how to do it....without crossing any copyright or ethical boundaries..i would most appreciate it. |
