3) Is there any massages or anything we can do to combat neck lines? A young and tight face looks weird on wrinkly neck!

The lines on the side of the mouth is helped greatly by Tanaka so I am hoping there is something we can do for the neck lines.

Thank you

I noticed great improvement on my neck!
I didn't do anything else except Tanaka and Retin A - but I think that is too early to say that this result is from Retin A (I just started third month of nightly use) I think that improvement is about 50% less wrinkles and sagging (great for such a short time - incredible in fact)
Tanaka doesn't include neck massage except final movement on the end of every exercise, but I think that improving the lymph flow down the neck helped itself.

In the past, I did nothing for my neck, not even left-over cream. Since I have started Tanaka, the lines (brown) on my neck have disappeared, I gentle massage a bit more from my jawline to chest bone.

If you are interested, Tanaka has another book/program only for body massage, there is a part focus on neck, shoulder and head.

Wow... a bit off topic... This is an excellent link that shows a difference in cultural interpretation of beauty and such.

I find it very interesting that people would botox their calves to apparently remove the appearance of muscular development. I think it is almost the opposite here in the US... When my leg was removed from a cast and had lost all muscle tone becoming so skinny and lacking shape, I must have cried for hours. The implication for looks, strength and whether I'd ever dance again... well, I can hardly express the distress.

Interesting to see the amount of botox used below the forehead. I was unaware that was done very often.

Now that you know Asian and Westerners have a different taste on judging our beauty. We concern so much about having a fat face and fat legs.

5 out of 5!!!

I want to share this with you and the rest. I had lunch with one of my friend today, I have not seen her for 4-5 months. She screamed at me in the restaurant, “What have you done to your face? Why is it so slim? You had Botox?” She knows me very well that I have stayed the same weight and thought I had Botox. The reason that she is so interested is her face is even bigger than my Pic 1, she has lots of fat on her face. By now, I will say I am more experience in reading fat/puffy, I can tell she is puffy from her double-chin and chubby cheeks. She was so excited when I told her I am doing the Tanaka massage, and keeps asking for the techniques, I asked her to go get the book and DVD for USD3.5.

She is the best person to prove the face slimming from the massage, I will ask her to take a pre-massage photo.

you're a good friend, critic.
i know alot of girls or so called 'friends' that will keep their beauty secrets, 'secret' from even their friends.

I don't mind to share, I even buy beauty and health books for people in my office who know absolutely nothing about taking care their health. As they ask so many questions, and I am tired to repeat again and again.

I do have some friends who don't read, so they will call me out for lunch and keep asking questions.

I found some before/after on botox face slimming, please scroll to the bottom. I think I can sell my before/after photos to them, more convincing, right? It said the botox can only last for 6 months.

I am checking the price list and understand why my friend is so excited, because she thought I had botox for face slimming, hyaluric acid fillers and Radiofrequency RF for face-lifting. If I really go to this laser center, it will cost at least USD5000. So, I am saving her lots of money!

before/after Hyaluric acid fillers :

I've only been reading up a bit on tanaka massage since it seems so popular on here Very Happy

I also came across a youtube video that looks a bit like they have a similar approach to Tanaka massage. It's called Fushi, Powerful Gym by Eva Steinmeyer.

Anybody heard of it? I would normally not try it out, because it doesn't look powerful enough compared to regular facial exercises, but this Tanaka massage doesn't look powerful either, yet it has a lot of positive reviews.

On the video it says:
Our FACE GYM is a combination of holistic and systematic acupressure and of head and face stroking, which in turn becomes a dynamic form of muscle training. In this way, we help our 70 facial muscles develop their lifting power.

part 1 of Fushi exercises

part 2

With massage - anything can effect the face and so even with Eva's its worth trying and seeing how your own face responds.

I found this on the net about her system:

http://www.fushi.co.uk/pdf/natural%20health%20aug%202008%20ins049.pdf

Doesn't look like she's got an exact program though on the net apart from the videos on youtube and this.

yeah, it doesn't seem like it's well promoted, I think her focus is more on selling natural products than this face gym, but it sure looks interesting. It's a combo of lymphatic drainage and accupressure.

I definitely believe in the holistic approach anyway. There are energy tools that also use accupressure and affirmations, like EFT, TAT etc that I think may help too in reversing the aging process. I've read of people using such selfhelp tools to reverse grey hair and I've also read an interview with a dermatologist who 'doesn't believe in aging' and looks at beauty/health holistically and according to the interviewer he had no wrinkles on his face and I think he was almost 50 at the time.

LOL without doubt, affirmation and energy tools I think are such an important and often overlooked tool because of their simplicity but they really do work a treat. I always get my clients doing affirmations when they exercise depending on which part of the face they are working on, and I've got a plan at some point to jot down my thoughts for affirmations for particular areas/exercises based on my knowledge at the moment (and it may change with experience), but thanks for bringing this up Kandy. Its something I often have good intentions of speaking about but always forget, but your so right there are holistic tools out there (and I think facial exercises fall into that category without doubt!).

I have a chi machine and am very happy with it.
It's great for your condition and many other things. It's also good for the blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, so in that sense also good for the skin and one of the most important things I believe, it increases the oxygen flow and energy levels. Makes you feel really good during and afterwards and you are doing a great workout just by lying down and relaxing. Very Happy

Which model would you suggest, Kandy? There's a huge difference in pricing online. Never heard of one before but this is very interesting.

well, there is only one original chi machine, the Sun Ancon. It's developped by a Japanese doctor, who did 38 years of research to perfection his machine.
The original Sun Ancon chi machine is also the most expensive one. However I have an imitation chi machine, which I'm happy about. I wasn't initially planning on buying one, but I saw one for sale for 60 euro's in the Lidl which also had a foot massage function with infrared lamps-which I rarely use btw.

It's only afterwards I read that fake chi machines can be dangerous, so it's important to read up on before you buy one. Here's a link with good info: http://www.chimachine4u.com/chimachinefakes.html
Mine looks similar to the 'Footshaker'

Hi everyone!

I'm brand new to the board, and I found out about EDS and Tanaka massage from VivaWoman.

I couldn't find any English translation videos (just snippets of English transcripts), so I had them translated and did the voiceovers/subtitles in English myself. So just in case anyone needs clarification or follow along easier with an English video, then you can see them on my YouTube channel or my blog, Epic Beauty Guide (dot) com.

I hope you enjoy! Very Happy
