| I waited a long time before I bought my Pro, because it did seem ridiculous to spend all that money to cleanse my face, but I'm a believer! I have some melasma, and with the Pro and my Obagi, it's nearly gone. Your skin will feel soooo smooth after using the Clarisonic. I totally recommend this! |

| I got a mia a few years ago. I'm not really sure if it did much more for my skin or for cleaning pores than a scrub with aluminum oxide crystals, like epidermxII or others. After reading the raves in this thread, I will definitely pull it back out and give it a few more tries, but at this time I might belong with the "meh" responders. |

I thought about this for along time before I bought one, after I had it I thought I was doing something wrong because it was no better than my facial brush I was using. I persisted, 5 different cleaners, and 2 brushes and still I have cloged poors and my face looks worse than it did before. JMHO Money had been tight, I feel bad that I spent so much money on something that does not work for me. |

I finally bought the "Mia" after hemming and hawing for years about it..
I love it!
Been using it about 4 or 5 times a week since February, and can honestly say it beats the tar out of my beloved microfiber cloths. I still use the cloths, but find the Clarisonic much more thorough, and at the same time gentler to my skin.
Unlike some reviews I have read here and there, I am definitely noticing a slight improvement in some thread veins I have at the sides of my nose and chin. BUT, with that said, I'd also offer full disclosure and share that I've incorporated occasional use of pseudoephedrine, into both my cleanser + one DIY cream. I can't be sure if it's a coincidence, or if the pseudoephedrine's decongestant properties are helping in that regard.
Really loving my Mia, and highly recommend it!
I'm also enjoying this lovely "PSF Green Tea Cleansing Milk" that I use with it; (It's gentle, non-foaming, and doesn't leave a film or dryness on my skin. I can't verify how it is for removing makeup though, because I don't wear any typically.)

Here's the ingredients for those interested;
Ingredients
Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Leaf Juice, Camellia Sinensis (Organic Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate), Lactose (Milk Sugars), Lavendula angustifolia (Organic Lavender) Distillate, Anthemis nobilis (Organic Chamomile) Distillate, Rosa damascena (Rose) Distillatem Vitis vinifera (Grapeseed) Oil, Sorbitan monostearate, Palm Stearic Acide, Vegetable Glycerin, Hamamelis virginiana (Witch Hazel) Distillate, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, SOdium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Organically Derived Honey, Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C-Ester), d-Calcium Pantothenate (Pro-vitamin B5), Fucus vesiculosis (Seaweed) Extract, Retinol Palitate (Vitamin A), Amorphophallus konjac (Konnyaku) Root, Salix nigra (Black Willow Bark) Extract, Azadirachta indica (Neem Leaf) Oil, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Oleoresin, Citric Acid.
Once a week I've been adding 7 or 8 drops of my 88% Lactic Acid to the cleanser in the palm of my hand, apply it to my wet face, and then use the Mia for at least 5 minutes...(User beware though, of your own sensitivity needs!) It's a fabulous, quick, massaging technique, that really leaves my skin feeling wonderful.., and the 5 minutes of LA sitting on my skin, really exfoliates well. Perfect treatment before using any gadgets as well.
Never thought I'd see the day that I would spend so much to clean my face.. Lesson learned, never say never... I love this new gadget |

Kassy A-Interesting the addition of the pseudoephedrine into your DIY cream. What do you use?
I was going to do a Rosacea study where they gave you Afrin and then a cream containing the pseudoephedrine to use on your face to help with the facial redness. I qualified but couldn't bring myself to do it because of the 12-14 times they had to draw blood in the day long study and my vein (and needle tolerance) wsn't strong enough. Great idea though and I had thought about trying that myself so I am curious what your concoction is. |

I bought mine recently, the Clarisonic Plus for face and body, when it was a QVC today's special value. It came with some Philosophy products. So far, I've tried the sensitive (white) and delicate (blue) brushes. Though delicate is supposed to be the softest brush (if I understand correctly) I think the sensitive is more gentle. I enjoy using the brush with non-foaming cleansers. I've tried it with foaming cleansers, but I've noticed if the brush gets too wet, the foam gets out of control and seeps into my eye. Probably user error there, though, like having too much water on the brush.*
It has reduced my blackheads and I KNOW it gets my face cleaner, because I used to have some makeup left over that came off when I used a toner or Philosophy retinol pads, and I no longer see a trace of makeup. And it is a nice, relaxing experience. But do I think it's magical or necessary? No. I just have no qualms about overspending when it comes to my beauty routine. (If I did, my bank account would be a lot happier!)
*By the way, I've heard that the HSN version of the brush, that vibrates all over the brush head instead of just in the center like Clarisonic, really spatters cleanser all over the place. |

Funny you should mention the 'Rosacea', because I actually incorporated this into a new cream I made for my BIL to try, and he claimed it calmed down the redness a "little".. He's coming to visit us in Florida next month, so I'll see for myself at that time..
If you want to try a little experiment on your own, I'd suggest you just try crushing/mixing 1 pseudoephedrine tablet into 1 tsp of whatever you have on hand that's alcohol + fragrance free.. (If a little alcohol doesn't flare you up, then no worries, and just use whatever you typically use.)
I love CeraVe Lotion for semi-DIY formulas, and although it has some great things for the skin, it also has alcohols which you'd want to consider.. It's fragrance free though, so I really love that.
FYI; Because of the country we live in, and that drug addicts found out you can use OTC Pseudoephedrine to make illegal drugs, it is no longer available (other than mixed) in the drug store aisle..
You do not need a script, but you now have to get the pure tablets at the pharmacy section, where you will be required to show ID, sign a form, and be happy with a limited supply. (You can typically get 30 tabs at a time, but this can vary by location.)
Only the pure variety of pseudoephedrine will work in *creams*. Some people who use it on crepy, loose undereye skin have claimed some tightening.. I can't confirm this, as luckily I don't have that.. It sure doesn't do a bloody thing to tighten up my dreaded malar bags though...
Let me know how you do if you try it.. |

I've been using clarisonic for a month now and I can say its just okay.I heard so many people rave about it, I had to get it. My sister-in law got it few months back and I see so much difference in her skin, her blemishes cleared out and she used to have dry patches before but they're gone now. Unfortunately it doesn't do much for my skin .
My Clarisonic plus came with 4 brushes (delicate, normal, sensitive and body brush, philosophy cleanser, body wash, hope in a jar cream and clarisonic skin polish.
In all the brushes I prefer the body brush. It really exfoliates and does what it says. But, with the sensitive brush I broke out first 2 weeks and my skin became so flaky any amount of moisturizer was not enough. Then I just stopped using it twice a day. I think that helped. My skin is not flaky anymore but I don't see any major difference in my skin yet.I guess Clarisonic is not wow!! for everyone or i just have to give it some more time |
