Tiny - I've enjoyed a few of her products very, very much. I've been through three lip pencils, three face discs (also two passports). I was happy with most LH products. (A few I didn't really use but that's status quo for any given palette). I highly recommend these for a beginner or someone who wants some instruction on proper usage. Lauren's dvd is helpful and she has basic contouring hints which use the products in the disc. The 'natural' disc is one I did not try ... hmmmmm

hmmmmmmm! I like you use alot of the stuff, and not some of it, thats normal in a disk of various types of concealers and such. I did have a big concealer palett of hers loveeeeeeed about 3 shades lmao!

I loved my Face disc and the instructions were great. I did find I looked very made up with it. So mostly used for nights out.
I still have mine. I did also find bits migrated to other discs.

I just used bits and peices I never did her concealers as she suggested, I am too lazy! But now that I am 90 I might try that

so for anyone that tried the concealers all over, how does that work, does it look real or too much

Ok I'm thinking of ordering one of the disc. I don't wear any makeup, maybe 5 times in my life. I'm interested in this because of the video instructions and because I think it doesn't use all over base color. I don't even like the look of tinted sunscreen on my face. So my question is do you girls think this would be a good product for me to learn how to apply makeup so I don't look like a clown. I'm not that concerned whether I like the actual makeup(could get other kinds later) more interested in the video instructions and matching brushes. I know there are books on how to apply makeup and I've look at some of those but I think this might be better with the video. Also which disc might be a good one to start with for a newbie? Thanks for any help.

I think it would be a great learning tool, but I think if you followed her instructions you'd feel too made up! If you don't even like tinted things on your skin, makeups a lot heavier, but to learn sure!!!

Thanks Tiny, do you have to wear foundation all over your face with this or can you just use the product to contour, cover spots etc.?

I don't think you could do this and not use foundation! I have never done this and prob can't now that you mention this, since I don't wear foundation at all

If this helps Tiny - I used some of the concealors and did not use foundation. (Very occasionally I would use LM tinted moisturizer but my skin is oily prone so I tend to avoid anything foundationish). Even my foray into mineral powder types didn't work. I always feel like any type of base creates more oil than anything. Icky on me.
Anyway - probably on dry ~ normal skins I could see foundation possibly making blending of the concealors easier.

Thanks Sistersweets, your skin sounds a lot like mine. I bought a couple of mineral powder things also but when I went to try them I just didn't look right so it the drawer to nowhere they went. I don't think I can wear any kind of base foundation because it would cause a oil slick. I might try LH disc and see how it goes.

Sis and Cookie - I've never thought about this before, but seeing that you both say any type of foundation causes an oil slick, I wonder if I should stay away from them as well. I tend to not wear foundation if I'm not heading out, but I've never paid too close attention to whether my skin is oilier with or without foundation. I did switch to MMU a few years ago to help with it, but I'm not sure it has. I do like something on my skin to cover up red spots that I get from breakouts. Maybe trying Lauren's face disc could get me away from needing foundation and *maybe* help reduce my oil slick. What do ya think? Have you heard this from others as well?

I have a book I really like called "Wake up Makeup." By Sandy Linter - a makeup artist for many stars. She likes the use of foundation but only as a spot treatment (as in use in place of concealor) - she prefers it to concealors. I would not get the face disc for the concealors. I liked a few of them and replaced one even but there are others out there sold individually that I think are better... The face disc - as a total thing and for makeup placement reference the disc is good - also for travel purposes. I have been using Garnier (of all things) BB cream. Super cheap and I like it as well as LM tinted moisturizer I used to use. I've heard great things about Revlons colorstay for oily skin but have not tried. Maybe when it goes dirt cheap on sale I'll give it a go.

Hi Foxe, I've had oily acne skin my whole life, so I never really got into wearing any makeup because it just made my acne worse. The main reason I am interested in LH disc is because I never learned how to wear makeup and I think this would give my a good starting lesson. I really can't wear any kind of moisturizer, foundation etc. on my face because it just makes it worse. So I figure even if I don't really like the makeup at least I can learn about concealer, contouring etc. and maybe down the line pick other products that might work for my kind of skin.

I agree I'd not buy the disk for just concealer, I had a whole palet of them that she did, I only liked 3 of them and only used under the eye. Perhaps I can figure out which I liked and just buy those
