Does anyone use Retin-A during their weeks off the Tria? I am nearly at the end of round 1, and am missing my Retin-a a bit!
My skin definitely looks improved by the Tria. Clarity and pore size have been the main improvements. Oh and I cant complain about a 30% reduction in pigmentation No change in fine lines yet
A previous poster asked why we don't have photos to show our results? Sorry, but my camera is not very good. Although I can clearly see results in the mirror, my camera blurs imperfections a bit. I think the results so far are not WOW amazing, but pretty good. That said I haven't had the rest period yet, so my skin should only improve over the next month or so.
I notice the shopping network now has a 90 day trial period, so that may help people undecided... |

I took a 2 month break before starting my 2nd set of treatments and used Retin A during this time. Stopped for a few days before and have not experienced anything adverse from having used the RA. |

I know this isn't the common consensus, but I have been using my Retin-A throughout my treatments. I am on my second round of treatments at level 3 and have noticed no adverse effects. My skin is actually looking pretty darn good . |

Got in touch with TRIA - their customer service is excellent - they even offered me a full refund which I did not want as I am seeing results - hope to have my new TRIA next week and finally finish my first cycle. |

Well I have just completed week 4. My face doesn't get red very much anymore. It is still early to really see dramatic changes. I still have some dryness and have to keep wiping the laser window a lot during treatment.
I am happy to see some improvement already on the area over my top lip. The lines appear to be smoothing out.
I do not have the droop on each side of the mouth as when I started. There are lines coming out of the area but no droop.
It is very encouraging to see at least a little improvement at this time.
Of course after I apply my make up I am very happy.

Hi all....Love all your input on the Tria. I'm on day 2 and like everything else I do I need results fast. I started on level 3 and I kinda like the redness and stinging hahaha....I'm actually wondering if I can bump up my usage to twice a day? I'm figuring if I were having it done by a larger in office machine it would be more powerful and doing it twice still wouldn't compare.
My other concern is timing....doing 8 weeks now and 4 off puts me right into the summer months....this is going to sound awful but I'm just not sure I'm prepared to give up floating in my pool completely sadly Does anyone know what might come if I am exposed to the sun at that in-between stage or right when I would be due to be doing the second round....And, do you have to do the second round at all, what happens if you don't? |

P.S. Pathetically, I love being in the sun, my Tria goal is to try to diminish smokers lines and hopefully improve the texture which I think is mostly hormonal and from smoking for so many years... Menopause sucks by the way lol |

Wendy Lu you will have to use a good SPF in the pool.
Menopause is not our friend but either is our wonderful sun.
I always love to spend time out in the sun and have the pigmentations to deal with now. Hopefully our Tria will eventually clear this up.
Welcome and wishing you success. |

Hi Maria - Glad to hear your positive review -- However, would you mind sharing your age category... ie over 40, over 45, over 50? It would be helpful to know as many of us are dealing with the same issues... ie lines above the lips...and I think it would be useful information. thanks, Aprile |

This forum is so great-everyone is at a different stage of treatment. I think we want instant result but it just doesn't happen. It took years to get those fine lines and who knows if we will lose them. I certainly am trying.
I am over 60. I will keep everyone updated on my progress. As a sun lover I always use is SPF now. |

Well, I got my Tria today. I'll be using it on my hands to start with, since I recently got a microlaser peel and want my skin healed nice and good before I try the Tria. Will update! |

Hi Zelda,
Do you think that maybe by using a little less of the priming serum cleanser your skin will not be so sensitive?
I use my regular cleanser, rinse off, then just take a little of the priming serum cleanser on the already moist cloth and wipe my face with it.
I was just trying not use up the serum so fast and have used this method. It works for me as I went to level 3 on my third treatment.
Hope this may help you. |

A couple of ideas. Dont use the full 2 min cycle before moving to the next area till you get used to it. Also you can use level 3 on your "tougher" areas ( for me this is cheeks and forehead) and go back to level 2 for the more sensative ( for me this is around my mouth). Good luck!
cheers |

I'm having second thoughts now about trying level 3 as I am still very red this morning after doing my level 2 about 7pm last night... |

Hi there I have just finished my second week
and moved to level 3 with no problem but a very slight pinking immediately after using. I am eager to see if there is any improvement on some brown spots i have on my cheeks.
I am 56 with a few wrinkles (hope it helps those too!!) |

If I was using the Tria (which I'm not because I have the ReAura) and if I had sensitive skin (which I don't) - I would be more inclined to use the device on Level 3 but do the treatments less often and see how that goes. |

I would suggest using the device on 2 when the next day redness is an issue, and on level 3 when you maybe have a day at home, when the redness is not an issue.
You can then build up to level level.
I wouldn't miss a day unless you have to, as the protocol for Tria is totally different to the ReAura. If you need to rest your skin, you can obviously miss a day, but I would try and stick with the instructions.

Thanks All - that's a good idea hopping from 2 to 3 depending on redness |

I guess I don't understand why the protocol of the two devices is different considering that they are the same type of laser. I still think that you're better off opting for a more intense treatment. Consider how strong a professional treatment is to these devices - by comparison, the home devices are very mild. But with everyday treatments you are treating skin which is still inflamed. So if your skin is extra sensitive, I still think a day off between treatments is a good idea.
Philip - you have both devices, does the Tria feel much stronger than the ReAura? |
