I quite like my ginseng shots. KGC Vital Tonic is my favourite.

And I should probably keep my big mouth shut, but ... a quick google of the "genetic anthropologist" in panoslydios' link claiming prolonged life expectancy in a mysterious African tribe reveals the learned doctor is also an "oncologist", "nuclear climatologist", "postmodern marxism expert", "numerologist", "google security executive", among his many talents ... basically, just a name used in many internet hoaxes.

You WONT accept this but ITS TRUE!!!!

Bananas are too bloating.Just like the salmon wannabe lift ,i suspect this is another detox thingy from too much banana that makes the skin look ''healthy''.

bananas are good with potassium and all that.

I think they are very soothing and I find when I cant sleep, I eat a banana with some nut butter and it totally relaxes me.

I dont think they are any more bloating than many other fruits and vegs.

I agree with the potassium thingy.Like the potatoes they also have absolutely the same colour.Hm something to think about.

I have observed that every stuff that is violet/purple is HEALING!!!For example comfrey, iodine, beets, echinacea, lavender and i could go for hours.
Its really fun when you see this correlations between colours and properties.

I have been trying the best to eat healthy with fitness and taking good care of my skin. I want to know everything and anything for anti-aging. (midlife crisis? lol) Does anyone have anything to add to the list? or extra tips.
Thank you!

1. Berries
promote cell health and can protect against disease.

2. Dark Chocolate
cocoa beans helps reduce inflammation of the skin caused by exposure to UV light.

3. Garlic
a natural way to help boost your immune system, with antiviral and antibacterial properties.

4. Nuts
good source of vitamins and minerals, including potassium, which helps lower blood pressure; vitamin E, which helps prevent cell damage; and calcium to maintain strong bones.

5. Beans
They are high in protein, promote hair growth and help thicken hair cells by making the fibers stronger.

6. Eggs
Eggs are rich in iron and biotin, which help keep your skin and hair healthy and full.

7. Tomatoes
Lycopene acts as natural sun block, preventing the UV damage that causes sunspots, dryness and wrinkles. Remember to cook tomatoes for the maximum anti-aging effect.

8. Avocado
Avocados are one of the richest sources of monounsaturated fats and contain biotin for healthy skin.

9. Sunflower Seeds
Sunflower seeds contain lignin phytoestrogens, which prevent collagen breakdown and boost the skin’s lipid barrier.

10. Wheat Germ
has anti-inflammatory properties to help prevent eczema; recent studies even indicate that wheat germ can help reduce acne.

I haven't read the whole thread but what about Wild Alaskan Salmon? Dr. Perricone swears by the stuff. Smile

I've added these to my diet for skin benefits and to fill my insatiable need for snacks.

1. Dark chocolate - the first time I heard it was good for you, I thought they were joking. But dark chocolate actually has many great benefits, including helping your skin. I had to develop a taste for it, but now I really like it.

2. Yogurt - I don't love it, but I keep it handy for the good things about it. And to keep my hands off of the ice cream.

3. Pomegranates - good for blood flow for the skin. One a day is plenty.

There's my skin food items. That and a wrinkle free cream are my "secret".

I actually kind of agree with pano on the dairy - I don't know if it leads to aging or not (doesn't everything? Isn't it inevitable?) but dairy forms mucus in the body, and every nutrient you get from dairy, you can get from a plant.

Of course, as an avowed vegan, I'm biased.

edited to add: for delicious, no-fat ice cream, blend together 2 frozen bananas with about a cup of frozen berries and a packet of stevia (if you like it extra sweet). I sometimes add a bit of cocoa. When I add cocoa, I also add the tiniest sprinkle of salt, brings out the chocolate flavor. Presto! Healthy ice cream. Much better for you than yogurt.

Yeah. Mucus is the body 's mechanism to protect the tissues from the deadly acids the stomach produces in defense of non human foods like dairy.
Same applies with smoking, where mucus is being formed to the lungs to protect their fine tissues.

When you feel sick ,you feel the mucus all the way down the throat, cause disease is just a saturation of acid waste. When expelled mucus is forming and you get disease.Disease helps actually detoxification.
