My first attempt to make my own eye serum - I have horrible under eye bags and this is my desperate attempt to get rid of it.

All comments will be appreciated - I am not sure if I have too many ingredients or if all will agree - I did a lot of research and the PH ranges all seem compatible

Thanks in advance - I use % in my recipe as I use a batch calculator once I have my products and % down.

10% - Eyeseryl B - Banish Bags!
2% - Caffeine
5% - Cell-Ox2 Phyto Peptide
3% - Pepha®-Tight
3% - TRYLAGEN
3% - Syn-Coll (2.5% out performs Matrixyl @10%)
1% - Hyaluronic Acid
10% - Sea Kelp Bioferment
1% - Lecithin
2% - Dimethyl Isosorbide (DMI)
15% - Methylsulfonylmethane - MSM
45% - Distilled water

Reasoning for usuage:
Eyeseryl B - Banish Bags! reducing puffy eyebags
Caffeine tightening, reduced dark circles and puffiness
Cell-Ox2 Phyto Peptide Reduce Dark Circles and Puffiness,Strengthen Connective Tissues
Pepha®-Tight skin tightening
TRYLAGEN quantity and quality of skin collagen
Syn-Coll (instead of Matrixyl) generation of collagen Skin Firming, wrinkles
Hyaluronic Acid moisturizer
Sea Kelp Bioferment skin tightening, Moisturizer
Lecithin emulsifier
Dimethyl Isosorbide (DMI) Enhanced penetration and solvent
Methylsulfonylmethane - MSM enhancement of penetration moisturizing, softening,

I got the ingredients from Bulk Actives, Lotioncrafter and Ingredients to die for

Lord Have Mercy! Laughing

You should really think about scaling back to perhaps 3 or 4 active ingredients, that would total about 10 to 15% (at most) of your products volume. Your skin can only utilize so much at a sitting, and the more signals you give it through actives, the more confuddled your poor skin cells will be...(And Lord knows you don't want those little devils crossing their arms and stamping their feet in protest.)

I'm not seeing any "oil" in the mix, and it really is a must if you want to target both the aqueous AND lipid make up of your skin cells. (Jojoba, grapeseed and evening primrose are nice choices in an eye product.) Even a teeny bit is better than none.

And where oh where is the preservative? And "1% lecithin" will never be enough to emulsify that lot you have. Do you have a regular emulsifier such as e-wax or polawax by chance?

My insomnia is finally going away at 4:45 a.m., so it's off to beddy-bye for me. Hopefully others will chime in for you, with some great advice to help you on your DIY quest.

ETA: Something I learned the hard way is this; 1. a laundry list of actives does not a great product make. 2. The more actives you combine at optimal %, the more stabilizing chemicals are necessary to keep your product from going off. 3. Get to know antioxidants, peptides + fatty acids. The rest is nothing but a waste of your time and money... (All just MHO of course.)
