Hello, I have a thick layer of dead skin that I can't seem to get rid of, it has been accumulating, especially on my forehead, in-between my eyebrows and on my nose. When I get out of the shower it softens up and it is much more noticeable, like a white cast on my face. When it dries it isn't as noticeable but it has a rough texture.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have looked it up and found others with the same problem but it always leads to a dead end. I've tried moisturizing with CeraVe and while doing so I sometimes rub some of the skin off and it leaves a dent, I don't know if it's an actual dent in my skin now or if it is just because of the removal of the dead skin but it bothered me thinking that I could be making things worse.

Okay a few things here. Are you sure its dead skin and not the muscle you are feeling between the brows? Think its called procerus. It is right where you describe and I suspect that is what you are feeling.

Is there any way you can go to a derm or doctor and get it checked out? It is worthwhile doing but rubbing it off is not the answer.

I see that you are using Retin A also. That could be part of the reason why also.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not using Retin-A, I used it a couple of years ago and my skin didn't handle it very well. Also, I'm sure it is dead skin, for some reason it apparently hasn't been exfoliating itself properly and the skin has just been accumulating, it's like it's glued to my face now. My nose and between my eyebrows are the worst.

Okay then the thing is to get to a doctor or derm for their opinion. Things like this are frightening when they happen but you need guidance from a professional as to what this is and to rule out any possible medical conditions that can be the cause of it too.

Hello, how did the thing with your face end up? Have you been to a doctor? It really sounds strange and I am curious about the result.

Yes, I've seen doctors. No one has any idea what it could be or what's causing it. My guess is that it's either seb derm or some kind of fungal infection, I have no idea what to do about it though.

I'm trying to upload a picture, but since I'm a new member I'm not allowed to post links.

This was taken just after getting out of the shower, it softens up then - After it dries it is like a paper mache mask all over my face. A very hard, thick layer. It doesn't itch and it isn't red, it's just.. there. It's caused scarring and broken capillaries. My eyes also sting horribly, multiple times a day. When I rinse them out they feel better for a while and eventually it starts up again, I think the two are related as they started around the same time.

Blah.

It's caused scarring and broken capillaries, which is horrible because I already had these problems after using Retin-A. My eyes also sting horribly, multiple times a day. I wonder if a course of microdermabrasion might help?
