I don't know if this has been mentioned before (can't be bothered going back and checking), but I would suggest using a short needle dermaroller. Even a 0.2mm roller, used everyday) should help. |

I have been using Renova and using vitamin E on my upper lip area. I have also started using the topical Estrogen and Progesterone. I have just ordered the Orlane product for lip lines. I also take Flax Seed Oil and Fish oil. I think all of it is helping! I have never taken birth control pills or HRT. |

Orlane Extreme Line Reducing Lip Care - I have been using around my lips and eyes and have noticed a difference. However, only once applied. It doesn't last after washed off. I think it is just a temp filler. |
I decided to give this a try along with other things I am doing to help my lip lines. I have been using it approx. a week and have seen a difference in the condition of my lips and above the lip area. Immediately after use I noticed my lips were very soft and smooth and my lip liner glided on and did not fray. The very faint lines above the lips vanished and it helped the one deep line on the side of my lips. I am also using the Jane Iredale lip plumper which also is making a big diff. in the look of my lips. |

I had Restylane injected into marionette lines (lines from nostrils to the lips) and it was fabulous -- after two treatments, it stimulated my own collagen and I haven't had any further injections for five years.
I'm also not a smoker but I have those little lines above my lips and I also have two lines below my bottom lips. I had Restylane injected there too, but it was disappointing for me and didn't do much. I think all fillers depend on the skill of the injector. From experience they also know which type of filler is better in some areas than others.
I'm now trying copper peptides. |
I could have written your post. I had one session of Restylane for nasolabial folds and lower lip and I've been amazed that it's pretty much lasted for two years. I may get a top-up in a few months.
I have the same lip lines and I've never smoked but I have caught myself pursing my lips, dammit! I've been using copper peptides but haven't seen much of a change after a year, although it's helped the skin around my eyes. |

I'm only touching up my lips with Juvederm Ultra Plus once a year (or less) now...it can definitely kick start your own collagen.
And if someone is just doing lip lines, the cost could be pretty low IF you find someone that does not require you to buy a whole tube (but most places do). |

I apply Vitamin E oil before I sleep.
And my lip looks good. I think Vit E oil does work! |

Are you talking about your actual lips or the lines above the upper lip? I actually just bought some vitamin E oil to experiment with. |

I've been thinking about trying a dermaroller on my lip lines. Has anyone had any success doing that? |

I haven't used the smaller needle for product penetration, Skippie, but I have used the longer needles for the lip lines, and unfortunately it did not do anything for mine. I am not sure if I went deep enough with it, but the sweet woman from owndoc site told me to give it at least 1 year and even then it would not remove all of the lines, but probably would improve them. She also recommended the single needle into the individual lines, but I definitely have not been consistent in that (it hurts!!). |

The hurting part is why I thought I'd never give the dermaroller a try, riley. If it hasn't helped your lip lines, I'll probably stay away from it. Have you ever tried the Valmont Lip Repair product? |

Skippie, the longer needles hurt, but the shorter ones do not, at least on my skin. The only difference that the short needles could make would be to penetrate your actives in deeper, so in theory they could work better. It may make a difference. Just wanted to let you know that!
I have not tried the full size Valmont Lip Repair, but I did have a sample and I loved the sample! It was temporary, but it may have turned permanent if I could have used it long enough? I think it is Tamgirl that is trying this, so I hope she reports in. I know Bushy said it took 1 year to work. |

Here to report in! I've been using the Valmont lip repair since the beginning of June and so far absolutely zero results on the lip lines. I like the product for it's hydration though, and my plan is to give it a full year before I decide whether or not it is effective on my lip lines. I know that's how long it took for it to work on bushy's lip lines so I'm willing to give it the year. It is definitely expensive, but you only need a tiny drop each time. I'll report back at the end of my year or if I start seeing some changes to my lip lines sooner. HTH! |

Hi Tamgirl!!
Do you think that 1 container will last you the year or do you think you will have to purchase another one? (Trying to determine how expensive it will be for me if you get results!!) |

How to get rid of vertical lip lines;
- quit smoking (not an option for many of us)
- so smoke more carefully (look in a mirror to figure out how to keep that area smooth while puffing)
- don't drink through straws, or small mouth bottles
- last but certainly not least, use the small face Vaculifter.. (It works, it works, it works!) |
