Another vote for staying out of the sun. Also, enjoy life and have LOTS of fun. I've yet to see a miserable old cow who actually looked good. If you've spent your entire life complaining and whining, it WILL eventually show in your face Plus, if someone is fun to be around, makes you laugh, you don't really notice their physical imperfections |

Here's my top 10 age prevention remedies:
1. Stay out of the sun
2. Sunscreen even when it's raining
3. Lots of Water (By the way, since I've found those ready made green tea packs by Lipton, I drink 2-4 liters a day- love the stuff + I get more anti-oxidants from the green tea)
4. 8 hours of sleep, ideally (yeah right, but I try. If you don't have the luxury of 8 hrs of sleep, meditation can help make up the slack by rejeuvenating your cells in a much shorter period of time)
5. Reduce Stress (Unfortunately we can't always control what happens around us, but we can still insulate ourselves from the negative impact by not allowing these external forces to affect our emotional & physical health. Every time I feel myself getting upset, I think of that wrinkle the stress is creating & I instantly stop. . . hey whatever works right?)
6. Retin A
7. Vitamin supplements (especially if your diet sucks like mine)
8. Exfoliate - gentle, ie. Juice Apple Peel/lactic to maintain, more aggressive- glycolic/TCA for more mature skin
9. I read in Allure that Dr. Sebaugh (dermatologist to celebrities/supermodels like Naomi Campbell,Cindy Crawford) recommends starting Botox before you get wrinkles, as an early preventative precaution. I haven't tried this yet since I don't have any, but sounds logical to start in your late 20's or 30's, when lines usually begin to form. This way you won't have to deal with trying to fill them in later if you never allow them to form in the first place.
10. One of the best anti-aging remedies is LAUGHTER! So try to surround yourself with uplifting, positive individuals & cut out the negativity & drama.
I'm all about age maintenance & being pro-active from a preventative standpoint. I think I started being concerned about adopting an anti-aging regime when I turned 21. One thing I've learned that really surprised me is that above all of the magic potions & creams, your emotional health plays a HUGE role in age maintenance. So try to find passion in your life & do the things you love. If you're miserable or unhappy it will manifest in skin that looks older. |
