Kassy and Toby,
I am amazed you haven't got the CACI treatments over there. We (UK) are usually way behind you all in technology. Unless it goes under a different name in USA? The description as on the official CACI website is as follows.

CACI uses a unique combination of specific waveforms and frequencies that work in harmony with the body's own bio-electrical field. CACI transmits tiny electrical impulses and signals that have been documented to stimulate muscle tone and enhance skin-tissue.

It is quite a large machine and can also be programmed to exercise arms, stomach, leg and bottoms. It also has a programme that sort of hoovers your skin, brilliant for blackheads, and then it gives you an intense exfoliation. It has been available here for I think at least 15 years, and most good Beauty Treatment Salons in the UK offer these treatments. It is definitely for professional use as the training courses for the different treatment was 2 days each one, (and that was for trained beauticians). I'm sure others from the UK will at least have heard of it , and may chip in with their own experiences, but overall it was brilliant. Ther were 5 other models that had the treatments with me and some of the older ones, the difference it made was unbelievable. It really showed up after the 8th treatment which is when the settings were allowed to go to maximum. Only problem was, unless you were having them every week, the effects wore off quite quickly, so it's really not worth paying for a course of 10/12 unless you can afford to have at least one every fortnight. It is a very different sensation to the Tua Viso. The CACI was really relaxing and quite gentle on the skin, (I sometimes fell asleep), whereas the TV can feel quite intense. I think it will take longer to achieve the same results as CACI, but that's the beauty of home treatments.

Kassy, I am certainly no expert but I think it's better to start on the low setting and work up to the higher. I think it would be the same principal as applies to the body exercises ie. at the gym we start with the lower weights and work up as the muscle strengthens. I know what you mean though, I am really impatient and want results quick, but maybe if we go flat out, there's nowhere to go later if you understand me. Not too sure about the time, I usually do 3 mins each exercise and I think from memory the max is 5 mins, but again, I think it's better to keep that for later as the muscles will need more of a workout as they strengthen. Hope I've made myself clear and you get what I'm trying to say.

***Update***

I am just shy of a month of treatments (approximately 4 times per week).

- I am not noticing any additional firming or lifting, since my first few uses. (Translation; I had nice results immediately, but nothing since that is noticable.)

- I have not had any increase in muscle volume, and no visible lift. (I took a few pictures, and don't see any change.)

- My dreaded bags are back worse then ever, but I'm sure it's related to these two things;

1. I didn't do any facial massaging all week, or my usual lymphatic drainage.)

2. It's been very cold in Florida, and I've had the house closed up with the heat on all week..(hot forced air electric heat, and a fireplace! To say I am stuffed up is an understatement.. Shock )

- I love the device and enjoy using it very much. I will plow on every other day, and feel confident the improvements will come, but just be more gradual for my 59 year old face.. Shock

Now that my test is over, I will be incorporating 'Ageless' back into my routine. I have also just recieved my 'STOP' device, and used it for the 1st time last night..

My *tentative* plan:

STOP every other day for 1st two months
LED 2 times per week
Tua Viso 3 times per week
Ageless 4 or 5 times per week
Massage + Lymphatic drainage as much as I can stand it.

My goal:

Keep the collagen and elastin flourishing
Increase facial muscle volume + lift cheeks
Increased jawline and neck firming

Here's two current lower face pictures, and I'll post an update in 4 to 6 weeks; (I'm trying to get rid of the jowly pouches, and want to firm things up some more. (The picture on the left is taken outdoors, and reflects my actual skintone best.)

Thanks for posting your pics Kassy!

I am 56 now (today is my birthday) and I have more sag in the jowly area than you do. I'm still on the fence about the Tua Viso - haven't ordered it yet, but being single and paying my mortgage and bills all on my own doesn't leave me much money for extras, especially in this economy.

I'm just wondering if the Tua Viso would really do any good for my jowly area. I'd post a picture of it but I'm super embarrassed on how they look. I hate these puppet lines and maybe plastic surgery is the only thing that will help me. I think it's hereditary as my Grandmother had the same jowls at age 50.

You're welcome! Happy Birthday to you!

As for the dreaded jowls, I can't emphatically recommend the Tua Viso at this 1 month mark, based on my experience with the "jowls".

It is a really nice gadget, and I feel confident it will give me good results over time.

Hi Toby

How often do you find you need to change the sponges? Ive been using mine for 2 weeks and changed them already as they seemed to be allowing too much water through.....or maybe thats normal, but they didnt start off like that. I also have problems locating a couple of sites....did you to have this problem? Do you a very big visual movement or do you just allow a small visual movement...I find I can have the setting reasonably high but dont want to over do it.

thank you

I have only changed my once in two months and I use it a lot(having a good amount of moisture flow wouldn't be a problem). I watch the video from Tina Richards website while also checking the movement points on the manual for the correct placement when I am unsure. The two point that are the most difficult for me are the cheek and the diagonal jowl. The one behind the ear at first was difficult to get just right but it is really effective. Also the neck site would be great for someone with a neck issue.

I received mine today! It just goes through the exercises in a very thorough manner and shows the exact placement and facial movement that should be achieved. I'm so glad I ordered it because I found that I was doing the ear, jaw and neck exercises incorrectly.

It doesn't contain any more exercises than are in the instructions - but the demonstration is very clear and concise and makes it much more easier to understand. I think it's a worthwhile purchase.

Do those of you who have the new DVD find that it really clears up probe placement..

I lost interest in my TV, when I just could not get the same contraction on both sides of my face.. (one side did great, and the other totally wrong no matter what I did.) I was afraid I would wind up like 'Quasimodo', if I actually started to build + scupt more muscle..

Could someone elaborate a bit on how you get the darn thing to stay on continually for this "massage" technique?.. I would definitely like to try that. For those who tried, what are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi Kassy. I have actually managed to get a similar contraction on both sides of my face, though I've had to fiddle with the placement slightly, but it was really not a problem for me ... except for behind the ear ... which is *still* a problem even after viewing the DVD. I have no trouble with the right ear now that I've viewed Tina's tips (my TV is configured such that it fits perfectly over my ear in the placement demonstrated) but I don't yet seem to have "clicked" with the more difficult left ear. (But I've only used the device once since viewing the DVD so it's early days yet.)

I will say that I have never, not even once, managed to get the proper contraction on either side with the "alternate" for the first exercise. I have no trouble with the initial placement for ex.1 therefore I have stopped trying with the alternate.

As for the massage, it couldn't be simpler. Dial to "3" or "4" and then just hold down the timer button - continually - don't lift your finger off the timer button - and just gently run the probes over your face in circular motions.

I did find I needed a bit more "slip" on my face for this as my first try pulled one of the probe pads partially out. So I just splashed my face with water and made sure to maintain very light pressure.

Over the years I have amassed a draw full of facial exercise devices that include a facial flex, two Suzanne Sommer FaceMasters (the old version and new version), a Dermal Tone, a Nuface, and a Tua Viso.

Well for the past few months I thought I would do my own little home experiment with the Tua Viso and the Dermal Tone since they work on the same principles.

I decided to use the Tua Viso only on one side of my face while using the Dermal Tone only on the other side of my face for a few months.

The main differences between the two machines is that the Tua Viso holds the contraction for about 5 to 6 seconds while the Dermal Tone holds it for about 2 seconds. The Dermal Tone does have more contact points to work additional smaller muscles since it has three probes on it instead of the two probes that the Tua Viso has.

In the end all I can say from my results is that the Dermal Tone wins hands down for the cheek area. After a few months of testing the two machines I have noticed some lifting in the cheek areas, but there is a defnite higher lifting of the cheek area with the Dermal Tone side than with the Tua Viso. I also notice that the nostril on the Dermal Tone side is a little more lifted than the Tua Viso side which I am attributing to the higher cheek lift from the Dermal Tone. One concern I had with the Tua Viso side was that with the one excercise where you place it horizontally under the eye area at the cheek area I was finding that I was getting a toughened section there like it was overworking that area. I am hoping that with the tip from the dvd about smiling a little before placing the Tua Viso diagonally on the cheek area will maybe help more. I have been trying that and it does seem a little bit more effective, but the Dermal Tone side is still performing much better.

In respect to the brow area I have not really noticed much of a different on either side for either machine, but my brows have not started drooping so I didn't really expect to see any major results like I have with the cheek areas.

In respect to the neck area there was more of a noticeable change with the Tua Viso side.

My biggest concern has always been my cheek area and the drooping that has begun in that area, and as mentioned above the Dermal Tone performed much better in lifting that area than the Tua Viso did.

Another point, is I recently came back from a month vacation where I did not take the time to do any facial exercises with either machine and after the month I can definitely notice that the Dermal Tone side has maintained most of its lift much better than the Tua Viso side has. With the Tua Viso side I can see that my cheek area has reverted more back to its pre-drooping stage than the Dermal Tone side.

As I said this is my own home experiment but in my situation I have no doubt that for the face area the Dermal Tone wins hands down, while for the neck area the Tua Viso wins hands down.

So now I need to get back to doing my daily routines with both of them since I got the dvd and the extra tips for the Tua Viso and see if I get any different results now.

A few posts back a gal made a comparison between Tua Viso and Dermal Tone. I love my Tua Viso but decided to research the Dermal Tone and found out they are no longer in business. When I googled it there was also a study between Tua Viso and Dermal Tone and Tua Viso came out ahead in every catagory.

I have both and hands down I prefer the tua viso.

Thank you Kassy and Toby for the compliments!
Just having other folks notice the difference gives a person a lot of inspiration to continue!

Kassy - The directions state for using the TV
initially, use 5X a week for the first 3 months then go down to about 2X a week. As I am still in the 2nd month, have been using 4-5 times a week and using the AAlightstim about
2X a week. After the 3 months are up, I'll probably use TV 1-2 week and AAlightstim 2-3X
a week. Then I may take a week or two off occasionally to give the skin a rest and let that collagen plump up the face! We'll jsut have to see what works best for this mature face! It does add another 30-40 minutes a day but it sure is worth the fun and effort!
Thx for cheering me on! DiPhx

Hi leathal - Yes I have had definite lifting since using my TV for 3 months. My left brow was lower than my right one (I could tell when wearing galsses) so I spent more time on the left side and less time on the right side.
My left brow is much more lifted now and the brows are almost even on both sides above my glasses. My cheeks are fuller ( and I think that's because they're also lifted). I do use the Ageless cheek exercise as well. My jowls are definitley more lifted as well as my neck. I see more lift there but maybe becasue I worked that area harder anyway. It really does work
for me - even my husband noticed it.

Regarding the charging of the battery, it takes about 3 hours daily to recharge but once recharged it holds the charge for quite a while. I am just getting myself into the habit of charging it on the days I want to use it.
Definitley worth the money and time! DiPhx

Hi everyone,

To answer the questions, Yes the contractions are stronger than the viso they range from 0-60 and there is no way I can tolerate over 40 so in that respect I think it is more powerful. The placements are slightly different, the instructions show you to place the sponges on the cheek points for example but you can move them as they contract on the whole cheek area you dont have to keep them still on the starting position and yes my lower lids quiver when I do the cheek exercise too.

Yes you can still put them behind your ear its one of the advanced moves.I quite like that one.

One of the down sides is my fingers get a bit achy holding the positions because the unit with the sponges is so small.

The whole work out takes 30 minutes.

I have to keep using it now anyway Ive just sold my Tuaa Viso on ebay!!

YOu can look on QVC in the uk at Tina Richards doing the demo .
