It's been nearly 3 months since my Ulthera treatment. I have not seen any improvements since the last time I posted here---In fact, just the opposite! My eyebrows are drooping, my upper eyelids have triple folds of extra, very droopy skin. My marionette lines returned (Ulthera never removed them completely, but they were less noticeablefor a short time). My crows feet returned. The improvement in the skin tightening of my throat pretty much has disappeared, and there is turkey-gobble loose skin under my chin again. Very distressing.
Everything on my face points towards the floor! I couldn't stand it, so I went to my friend's plastic surgeon for information on corrective procedures, and I ended up with a surgery date! So now it has been 10 days since I had an endoscopic browlift, mini facelift (to correct the loose neck skin and turkey gobble thing), and an eyelid lift. I've had a LOT of pain.
Results? Ulthera's residual pain is nothing compared to the pain caused by surgery. But then the results are so much better with the surgery. The upper eyelid surgery has yielded dramatic positive results that should be permanent. I thought I would see the browlift immediately, but I don't see a change there. The surgeon says the browlift will be noticeable as I heal, something about the muscle being temporarily traumatized. So we'll see. My marionette lines are completely gone! Yay! But I still have fine wrinkles in the nasal fold area. The vertical lines on my upper lip are still there.Forehead wrinkles are still there. Crowsfeet are still there. But my neck skin is tight and the gobble thing under my chin is gone! Yay! I am still quite swollen on my face and neck. I have numbness in my lower face, scalp, and neck which hopefully will go away in time.
CONCLUSION: For drooping extra eyelid skin, I would recommend the upper eye bleph surgery. It is a sure thing. Ulthera is not a sure thing. Whatever small browlift I had with Ulthera has disappeared, so I would likewise recommend browlift surgery if that is needed. To treat a lot of loose skin on the neck, I'd definitely go for surgery, as it is a sure thing. My neck improvement with Ulthera was very shortlived. |
