So far I like my 3Mhz U/S device too!
Im using a formula with peptides (copper and tetrapeptide 17), HA, retinol, scooter gum, vit E and some amino acids. Im just using that (wet) on my skin while U/S'ing and it seems to be doing something! Too soon to tell but my skin looks firmer and plumper after using it into the next day. I use this 3x week. |

Serums are supposed to penetrate the skin better with the use of ultrasound. So the method is to apply the serum first, then a conductive gel to allow the current to get through the surface of the skin.
It is ok to use Aloe Vera Gel instead of a specialised conductive gel but it does tend to dry out fairly quickly. Therefore I intermittently spray the face with water as I go. With a conductive gel you have to wash it off after the treatment. With Aloe Vera it's not necessary to do that - plus it's good for the skin. |

Totally agree with you.. Also agree that the aloe is drying.. It makes a good addition to an ultrasound base, but on it's own, not so great.
I just worked out a DIY recipe for some folks. Haven't tried it myself yet, but I'm *almost* ready to hit the submit button for an ultrasound spatula device, so I'll be making it shortly. I based this recipe on the "Palacia Ultrasound Gel" which is $78. for 10oz (Freak that!) I have a .50mm dermaroller in my cart too...
DIY Ultrasound Gel:
Distilled Water
Glycerin 4 or 5% (depends how sticky, moisturizing you want it
Propylene Glycol 2%
Hyaluronic Acid 1% (available powder or liquid)
Sodium Carbomer 0.2% Great geller! (already neutralized so you don't need to use anything hazardous like NaOH. And the necessary sodium is in there!) It's a powder so use the same precautions as with any other, work quickly and don't expose your nasal passages to it.
Germall Plus Powder 0.2% (preservative)
Both powders can be dispersed either in the water (1st), or into water AFTER the water soluble actives have been added. Eazzy Peazzy!
If you make yourselves a nice water based serum with some nice actives like "fawnie" shared above, you'll be good to go! Allow your 'active serum' to penetrate 10 minutes or so, then just apply the US gel and have at it. |
