Ok, I am so confused with why my skin is so oily! And not the glowing type that was promised in the peel product label, but it feels like I took butter and rubbed it all over my face.
Is this due to the skin repairing itself, or is this an effect of the cerave lotion and omega 3 supplement that I am taking. It is getting so embarrassing, because I don’t want to blot this away. I can’t go into meeting with such an oily mess. |
You are creating excess oil because the skin barrier is damaged and it is trying to heal. I would go ahead and blot...it won't hurt anything, and you will feel more comfortable with how you look.
Once the skin barrier recovers (which could take months), the oil production will decrease. |

Be careful that your skin gets enough moisture, all this oily mess may mean that your skin is losing water because it has been damaged. Maybe try sea kelp bioferment with water as a hydrator, or another humectant with plenty of water - glycerine and water 30/70, before you put on your moisturizer. Once the moisture balance in the skin gets better, the oilyness will subside and things will heal!
Don't use anything with alcohol in it, blot by dusting with a bit of corn starch and rinsing it off with tepid water, IMO one of the most gentle ways to get rid of excess oil. |
