How many can 100% say Vit C serum really works for you and you can't live without it? If you can only choose one skincare product, will it be Vit C serum?

Yes to it does work for me. If I could only choose one product as hard as it is to say no it wouldn't be my one and only, boy I don't know what I could possibly say that for???

I have only found 1 C serum that did anything for my skin and that was the Skinceuticals C, E, Ferulic. It helped with lightening up pigmentation on my skin. It took 3 months to see results. If I had to choose 1 skin care product only I would not choose topical C. (I would choose sunscreen.)

Hello there Smile
As we grow older, we need the vitamin C not only inside the body but also on our skin. Any help we can use. I am using vitamin C as well. It is an Obagi line of products available at EDS.

But not only that, you also have to have proper food intake to keep skin healthy, avoid sun or use a sunscreen with at least 30SPF will do your skin good in the long run.

Also, don't use bar soap on your skin, use a foaming gel or anything liquid esp. with aloe vera is good for your skin. None irritating is better.

I have found that only the Neostrata 10% vitamin C capsules work for me, they make my skin look much smoother and help fade any blemish marks I had.

I can not use their product 2x a day as it is too drying, so just use it 3x a week.

there is a 20% vitamin C cream by neostrata in an airless pump and I got that becauseit was on sale and sounded really good, but it is a bit too strong for me.
next time I'm getting the 10% capsules.

I have 2 samples of the CE ferulic here, but have only tried that 2x so far- seems like a nice product.

but for my budget and considering the 10% capsules still work for me I'll stick with those.

I think 30 capsules or 30 uses is around $34 but often goes on sale at 25% off.

I'm with Riley. I found that the CE Ferulic slightly lightened my hyperpigmentation but beyond that I didn't notice any texture or tone of my skin. While I will continue to use it for a long time to come, if I had to choose just one product, it would be sunscreen.

I am on Arbonne Nutrimin C (on and off) for 3 years . Actually vitamin c was the only thing that improved my skin and didn't irritated it . I think that Vitamin c is the best anti aging possible Smile .

I can say that Vit. C really does improve the skin and I can't live without it.

I have been using Vit. C serum for 5 years now and if I only could use one product, Vit. C would be it.

I use SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic for the last couple of years, and before that it was SkinCeuticals C+AHA, and I have tried Cellex-C 15% and CellularSkinRX's C Serum. CE Ferulic is a keeper!

I'm yet to find a vitamin c product that doesn't cause me deep, cystic-type bumps. Even DIY hasn't worked.

I had amazing results from Devita 15%C serum - much smoother, tighter younger looking skin, faster healing of any mishaps, more even tone, etc.

Unfortunately it is too much for my neck (I have very sensitive skin), but works well for my face.

Hi Sigma,

Do you use retinoid in the evening?

The reason I ask is that low pH topical products burns my skin after my using Retin-A.

I used to use DIY Vit C (15%); however, I can't use it now.

After all, I'd like to use Vit C in the morning; thus, I may drop the percentage to 10% or purchase a finished product like Devita (affoerdable price).

If you use retinoid, does it burn your skin?

P.S. I nunderstand that the skin sensitivity varies from one people to another

No, I do not use any retinoids.

I have very strange skin - it is very sensitive but loves acids (AHA/BHA). In the evening I use AHA/BHA or Mandelic, and Vit. C in the morning.

My face loves it, but my neck is even more sensitive and reacts with "red burns" to both. So I use in on the face and on the decolletage, but bypass the neck.

I have not tried to use any C products consistently in the past, and Devita C is my 1st try - seems to have good reviews, not expensive, good ingredients list, so I decided to try it and am very happy that I did.

HTH

I've been using an Obagi line of Vit C for the last several months, but I can't tell if it's really done anything for my skin that's all that amazing. Maybe I'll try some of the other C serums mentioned!

I've been using a 10% vit C serum for 5 months and my complexion is more even, less pigmentation (although doesn't clear it completely) and an overall glow on my face.
I don't know about long term results. I guess i'll have to wait and see Smile

I think Vitamin C is something that if it gives you results you have to continue to use it to maintain those effects, basically like any skin care topical. I have recently read a few sources that say Vitamin C only produces effects for approximately 60% of people and science really has no clue as to why?

Vitamin C feels good on my face, but can't say I've seen any real results (tried Skinceuticals C&E ferulic, DIY, and currently a knockoff of the Skinceuticals). I must be part of that 40%. Figures.

The thing I still wonder is does it still have a positive effect that's not visible for those 40% or does it just not do a thing? I know for me it had an initial effect of evening my skin tone and giving a "glow", the glow continues as I use it but I haven't gotten any more lightening of pigmentation as I have continued with it and I have used C for years?

I think Vit C is a good staple product, but is best used as part of a whole skin care routine aimed at treating different aspects of skin rejuvenation, i.e. skin cell renewal, collagen & elastin synthesis, keeping complexion clear and even, antioxidant protection, hydration, etc.

Has anyone else noticed that vitamin C products can help with minor blemishes?

I noticed for me it does help and that most stronger things like AHA, salicilic,bp kind of are too strong for my skin after a few days.
