I love the brushes in this set.
The eyeliner brush is the only eyeliner I have ever been able to use & get a nice close line. Until I got this I had tried everything brushes, pencils etc. |

I am so glad that so many of you are happy with the LH makeup. I am still using my Disc since 04. Absolutely love the natural, youthful look. |

I´ve checked out the site, and while I won´t be able to use the makeup due to my allergic reactions, I´d love to get the tips for application. There was a few pointers on her site, but nothing I didn´t know before. Will anyone share the hints from the video? |

Sharkbait, you can order the DVD for $10, and I highly recommend it. It's helpful because Lauren starts out with a bare face and then explains as she goes. It's really helpful to watch her, and see the light touch she uses, etc.
Another neat thing I forgot to mention: the makeup in the disc is covered with an acrylic sheet that shows the face and, with color codes, shows where each product goes.
If you have specific questions and you want to PM me, I will try to answer. |

Thanks Cedar! Does the US have another "DVD-zone" than Europe, or is that ancient history? If it does, then I won´t be able to play it.
I`m basically curious if it´s all basic contouring we´re talking about, or if there´s a huge secret I´ve yet to discover. I´ve stopped using MMU foundation all over and just spot treat with it, but I´m all for tips about getting radiant. |

Sharkbait, I am sorry I do not know about the DVD zone. I am soooo not current on that type of info. Sorry, maybe someone else would know?
The principles DO revolve around highlighting and contouring, and placement. Yet, I have so much makeup, and never was able to get it right. I really didn't know the ins and outs of it. Plus, the shades and sheerness of the products in the disc seem *just right.* |

AnnieR did you actually see the show? If so, what did you think of it? We saw it in September and were disappointed but also waiting in line was Andy Garcia, whom I always think of as dark and swarthy looking in the movies, but here he looked heavily made up and really pale!
Maybe he needed some of Lauren Hutton's makeup. |

No, we didn't see "Love", we saw "O" and "Phantom of the Opera". They were both excellant. |

I have NEVER worn makeup before (well, except for at my wedding and then my sister applied it for me). Is this a good product for me to try. I don't want to look "made up" and I don't think that I could handle anything too complicated or I won't do it.

WOW!!! This has me really tempted. I checked the products out on HSN and they look great....and really great prices. I loved the "nose job" kit! Thanks for the review...I'm going to put it on my wish list. |

Priscilla, perhaps go towww.laurenhutton.com to read about the products. Then, you may findwww.hsn.com has better prices. Anyway, you definitely don't look made up using this product. Just better. It's color coded and everything to make the whole process very easy. Just be sure to get the DVD; it's a great learning tool. |

Do they sell the Face Disk (or other products) on the air very often? In a way, I would like to hear/see Lauren Hutton (or someone) do a demo or talk more about application techniques. I have seen them do this for other cosmetics/beauty products when channel surfing but I don't know if they ever do this for the Good Stuff. |

Wow. There are a lot of products on her site.
A couple of questions:
1. What are the dimensions of the Face Disk versus Out of Africa? It's hard for me to tell looking at the website. I think that whatever is smaller and easier to carry around (or travel with) would make more sense for me right now.
2. How does the AquaElements makeup compare to the products in the Face Disk? I read the descriptions, but I'm wondering if anyone on EDS has tried both kinds and has developed a preference for one versus the other, and if so, why. I kind of like the containers that the Aqua Elements comes in and that it seems (SEEMS) a bit simpler than the Face Disk. This seems to be a new product for this line, though, and so maybe it is not as good in terms of making you look good without making you look "made up."
3. Would something like the Try Me Trio (contouring shadow, light concealer, blush, lip balm only) be good for me to start with? If I ordered the instruction DVD plus the Trio, could I get started enough to decide if I like it...or do I really need to have the whole disk to achieve good effects?
Sorry for so many questions!

Priscilla, yes, the Try Me Trio and DVD would be a great start. The entire disc circumference is about the size of my outstretched hand, very compact and so well designed with the necessities. It also has a magnifying mirror, which is also nice. I think the disc is perfect for travel.
I believe the disc is smaller than Out of Africa. I have not tried the Aqua Elements, so can't help you. Also, I haven't seen TV in about 12 years, so I don't know about sales on television, sorry.
I think the Try Me Trio with DVD would be enough to give you a good idea. |

THANK YOU, Cedar. I think that the Trio might make more sense since I currently wear NO makeup and am not used to extra steps in the morning. Just getting in the habit of moisturizing in the morning was an adjustment!
If I get the hang of the Trio products, then I can go on to the whole disk. I like that you can refill it.

I am curious about this face disc. Is it a mineral makeup? I have sensitive skin and I usually find foundations too heavy for me. I am currently using a mineral makeup but sometimes I find it shows a few fine lines. It can also make my skin look dry if I put too much powder on by accident. |

I didnt realize that the hsn code given at the beginning of this thread was old. Does anyone have a current one they would like to share? I would love to order this from HSN...the prices are great. |

I find that mineral makeup makes me look dull, dry and shows every fine line I have. I absolutely LOVE the way the face disc makes me look. No it is not a mineral makeup. In the disc there are a few powders but they are for highlighting. I wear either no foundation or a tinted moisturizer then I highlight or conceal with LH. Most of the time it is very hard to tell I am wearing makeup. When I say hightlight I mean in a few areas. In my case I highlight with a slightly darker color under my jaw to give a sharper look. I use a lighter dab at mouth corners for a lifted illusion. It took a little practice but worth every second.
I have been using LH Disc for a few years. Actually if I spent the time I could get the same results from cosmetics I have. The disc has been so convenient and lasts a long time. |

Priscilla, the disk measures just under 5" in diameter and just over 1/3" in thickness. The Out of Africa book compact is around (according to my calculations) 6-1/8" tall x 4-1/8 wide x 1-1/4" thick although you can separate the compact on either side from the outer casing. |

thanks Havanna!
I'm still torn between trying the Trio+DVD or just splurging for the full face disk....does anyone know when Lauren Hutton will be on HSN again?

Hi Winnie
Thanks for this information. I will probably give this a try after I finish the mineral makeup I bought. Just another question ... if you don't mind. How long does the disc usually last? I find the mineral makeup pan I buy will only last a few months, with daily use. |

I find that my Disc lasts me approximately 8 months. The only pot I need to buy in between is the light concealer. May I also suggest the Try Me Trio if you are not sure. My favorite products are in the Trio. |
