There is so much talk of Jane Iredale on EDS but why are'nt they selling it on the EDS website. I would like to buy it! |
ESD used to carry this brand. I wonder why they don't anymore.
I just picked up Jane Iredale's bronzer called "moonglow" and i LOVE it. There are 4 different shades of bronze on one palette and you can use it as eyeshadow as well. |

I recently bought and have been using the "Powder-Me SPF" directly over "Dream Tint."
OH MY...
For some reason, my skin keeps reacting to sunscreens... no matter which one I try. My favorite organic sunscreen is causing my skin to react now. Or I should say, my skin is simply reacting. I really needed a different kind of SPF... but what? So I went and researched my options and bought the "Powder Me" because it seemed perfect for my situation.
While in the beauty shop, I also tried Dream Tint and found they work brilliantly together. My only quibble is that there were only two shades of Powder Me and I choose Translucent. It is actually too light for my skin tone but after sitting on my skin it seems to blend and loses its somewhat whitish cast.
There is now a Golden color and I'll have to try that out at some point. In the end I am floored by how smooth my skin looks... without the crepiness that I used to get with BE. Love it! |

I will have to keep this in mind -- sounds like a perfect item to travel with, since it can multi-task.
Is it very glimmery? The name sort suggests that it would be. I don't like sparkle/glimmer on me. |

I use the Powder Me on my kids and they don't hate it.
The Tan color is pretty dark and I have yet to see the middle color. Hopefully my spa gets it in this week. |

The tan is really dark, I agree...
I'm going to order the Golden (middle color) tomorrow.. I don't mind the Translucent but I am just so curious to see if the new color will give me a better match. I suspect that as summer brings us all outdoors more, I'll need a slightly darker color in the next few months anyway.
I also want to try the moonglow quad bronzer. Can I ask, does the bronzer have any "orangey" quality to it? And would it work for medium to fair skin?
I noticed that Sunbeam is a little more on the pink side but I'm not sure that's the direction I want to go in... If moonglow is bronze without tending to orange it looks like a nice color combination. |

Since I am exploring new foundations, and read this thread, I decided to go to a local spa to check out the JI pressed mineral foundation. When I walked in, the sales lady or spa hostess (whatever her title was) greeted me. I was struck by how awful her makeup looked. Her foundation was very pale and matte and pastey --almost Goth-looking. Anyway she showed me the foundations, and it was hard to find just the right match for my slightly olive skin. Then she mentioned that SHE was wearing that pressed foundation "loves it" and I thought, OMG, she is the worst ever advirtisement for the product! So my question is...is this foundation always very matte, or is it a matter of layering? I only want light coverage. The way she looked has almost scared me away. I didn't buy yet, and was hoping to get a little feedback before I decide. |

The golden is too dark for my face but gives my arms a nice golden tanned color. Like what I wish my body color could be - if I laid in the sun or tanned. The pale color still works on my kids.....although they are still suspicious it is makeup. |

Jane Iredale Pure Pressed base is simply the best foundation I have ever used for my skin. I was originally concerned about the relatively small number of shades, but ended up finding one: Natural, that works beautifully for me.
It's me, but better.
I have tried other foundations, but have to find a closer shade match to achieve a similar effect.

Thank you for this feedback... I haven't bought golden yet as I decided instead to get medium in Dream Tint. That has made the difference for me! I realized that the medium light was just too pale... but I am glad I have it so that I can alternate b/t summer and winter. The translucent spf is now working well.
@ mountaingirl - I think the sales person just has a very bad sense of personal esthetics! Sometimes we want our skin to be a different color than it truly is. I've seen lovely women ruin their appearance with the wrong foundation. And the caked on, goth look is probably more from over-application combined with the wrong color choice. There was a lady at my son's pre-school that consistently wore a too-light foundation. I wanted so badly to tell her but could never figure out how to do it and not sound like a critic. Some people have an eye for it and some don't! |
