I think I'm going to try Kassy's recommendation and get some Renovage and add it to my Emu Oil. I already add Co-Enzyme Q10 to it. |

Riley - have you tried nappy rash zinc cream for calming your redness? Whenever my skin flares up I put a fairly thick layer on my face at night (as you would apply it to a baby's bottom). It acts as an anti-inflammatory and is very calming. And, of course, zinc is good for the skin anyway. |
I did get diaper rash cream today! I shouldn't have changed up my routine, as my skin was doing really well. Live and learn! |

Hi everyone - Have been looking for some
great actives to add to my DIY creams for elasticity and sagging. When I called Lotioncrafter to discuss the actives, I asked about renovage and was told that it works better
for redness. This led me to purchase other actives instead of the renovage. If anyone
purchases this active, let us know what results you receive from adding this to your creams.
Thx DiPhx |
Hi DiPhx - I'm dealing with sagging too. Could you share what Lotioncrafters recommended? Or maybe start a new thread on it so as not to hijack this one |

What I've noticed since using the DNA serum (I started it the end of November):
Definite increased in all over moisture retention on face. Nice glow too...however, I noticed that my face looks shinier after makeup application and I have to apply powder more often than I used to throughout the day. Not that that's a severe issue, just something I'm not used to due to being a lifer of the dry side. My under eye area retains moisture so much better than it did before the DNA and my EES Tuck serum looks more natural. My under eye area seems more spongy and springy and doesn't crinkle anywhere near as much as it used to. Not sure if I see any actual plumping of anything other than my under eye area...not a HUGE amount of plumping under my eyes, but enough to notice improvement. But if that's the only place I get plumping, minute as it is, I'm a happy camper anyway.
I'm going on nearly 2 months of using it and I've only been through just shy of 1/2 a bottle. I think it's a fabulous value and will continue to use it. |

I am happy as well. I have been using it about a month.
I apply it at night, because as Bren mentions it makes your skin a bit of a tacky feel and slight shine.
My skin just feels super supple, moisturized and soft. I really do not expect to "see" results for any product for at least 6 months of regular use. |

I've used this product for just over a week and noticed a distinct improvement in my upper eyelids. Much more moisturised and less crepey looking. Unfortunately, the yellow serum has given my skin a rather jaundiced appearance. You win some and lose some!

Are you guys wearing foundation over the DNA? I have no issues with a yellow tint but I use a liquid foundation over it. |

I put it on at night. For me, it would just be too shiny, too yellowish for the day.
I am really liking this so far..might partner it with a dermaroller. |

No Toby. No foundation just the DNA serum which I bought along with the eye tuck after reading your recommendations. I have been putting the eye tuck on over the DNA serum when I go to bed as I've not yet mastered daytime use without getting the white flakes others mentioned. The hope is that with long term use the bags will decrease as they have for you.

I do notice a bit of a yellow tint, but it seems to fade (or blend in?) quite quickly on me. I use it with and without a foundation on top with no problems. Mind you, my skin is generally very dry. |

I use foundation or BB cream over the DNA. I haven't noticed any yellow tinge to my skin, but my skin base color is more towards yellow anyway. One thing I have noticed though, is I have fewer "bad face days" a few months out using the DNA. Typically, my face gets a bit crappy looking the closer I get to my period, didn't really have this last cycle. Hopefully that continues to be the case! |

My skin tone allows some yellow without a problems but I don't see any on my neck where I am not applying foundation. I do massage my neck really well after applying it. |

Maybe I'll try using DNA just under my eyes for while. |

I think the DNA would be a great solo under-eye treatment for those that either don't like or cannot tolerate using it all over, or if you have issues such as the yellowing. Under the eye area is where I've noticed the most plumping action and the moisture retention under there is amazing.
For myself, it's the shine/glow that's taking some getting used to (I know, sounds weird because that's what people want to achieve ). Not that my skin is oily mind you, it's the glow due to my skin being moisturized for a change! I'm so used to living life in my drier skin and it has always looked more towards the matte side. |

Hi, I am a newbie here but I have been reading this forum for a while and learning a lot. I use NCN 5-5-5 spot remover and I love it. I am a cystic acne sufferer. Not only has it lightened my acne marks, but also cleared my acne (I think due to the niacinamide). I use it all over my face. I also use Retin-A micro gel. Retin-A helps me a lot, but if I see a red spot coming up, Retin-A doesn't suppress it while the spot remover is wonderful. If I I spot treat the red spot a few times a day, it goes away, it suppresses my cystic acne. That said, I was considering to buy DNA from NCN. But I also read truthinaging, I don't know how many of you follow that site. But there was a heated discussion about Bioeffect EGF serum. Marta, the owner, loved it and recommended it, and then a sceientist doctor stepped in and said that it's harmful etc. You can find all that in the comments section if you are interested. So Marta and this doctor disagreed and she suggested to him to create a his own site where he would share his thoughts. And he did, it's called barefacedtruth. Anyway, to make the long story short, there he talks about DNA serum, that it's a drug ingredient and it's harmful. There's even a picture of NCN DNA serum. I was considering of buying EGF capsules and DNA serum from NCN before I saw this review, but I have to think twice. I know that Paula Begoun also warns about Teprenone. Sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker. |

I read through the site (thanks again Gosha) and it just makes me want to chuck everything but those with natural ingredients or proven topicals A and C.
I want to take advantage of the latest skin care advances, but I don't want to be a guinea pig either!.
It is just confusing!
I do like the DNA serum from NCN. I really do. I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing. |

Had a bit of a laugh when I read the following - sound familiar anyone?:
Quote: |
What is working for me this month? The correct answer would be whatever I put on my skin a few months ago.
Has anyone followed these beauty blogs (actually commerce sites that dispense deep science and medical advice without a doctor in sight) where they switch products each month and then tell you how well wrinkles are doing? And attribute their ups and down to the product of that month. Then sell it to you. I think they actually know better. The truth just doesn’t sell products.
In terms of skin science this is utter nonsense (non-science). Ingredients that affect real wrinkles at a structural level take many months. It’s a long process (we will soon do a post on wrinkle physiology). You won’t even start to see effects for 6-8 weeks. So, shouldn’t they be then selling the 3 months ago product, not the current one? That would make more sense. But I have found the world of anti-aging skin care to be anything but rational.

I for one get fed up of reading all of the overnight miracles that get reported on these forums.
At last there's a Voice of Reason out there! |
