The Tanaka gave me the first zits I'd had in years, one of which has subsequently taken up residence on my cheek right on the line of massage. I'm still doing the massage every day, and now that I have the Saeki book, will try the lymph massages she suggests too. Or maybe I will alternate (trying not to go overboard, as I usually do.)

So, if I'm reading this right: you were already doing OCM with no resulting acne, but starting the Tanaka massage with the same oils brought about a crop of acne/spots? So the spots must be resulting from detoxification if you're really not using any new products on your face ... very interesting. The massage really must be quite effective then.

Someone of you have questioned how does Tanaka looks like without the hat, here is a close-up photo without hat, she absolutely does not look like 60+

I am also practising the pelvis exercises which is very popular in Japan. The book is written by a 60+ woman, I was shock when I see her photo in the book. In her bio, it said she participated in a Beauty Pageant in 1985 when she was 19, I thought the photo was taken in 1985. When I read to the end, I found a few more photos that she was demo for her clients, those were not close-up pictures, but you can tell the photos were same as the one she used on the "intro page". I can hardly believe she is 64, she looks like pre-30 in the photo. It said that she keeps the same body, weight and 'face' since she starts this pelvis exercises. The photo is too convincing and I want to TRY!

Here is the book cover, you can see her photo:

Confused If she was 19 in 1985 that means she was born in 1966 and would currently be 44 not 64.

In Asian's standard, she looks like early 40 in my "Critic" eyes. Don't forget Japanese girls start to use sunscreen when they were very little, and they wear UV hats, UV gloves and UV umbrella all the times.

No, she was 19 in 1965, I made a typing mistake.

Not only is Tanaka lovely, she is brillant. I would like to thank her daily as I watch the massage transform my face....and of course I wouldn't know about if Critic hadn't brought it here.

Yes, she is an inspiration. I agree with Toby - the massage is amazing in it's ability to create some change.

Mirjana and Missalvia, I wanted to mention that about 1 out of every 100 people are allergic to avocado oil. I just so happen to be one of them. If you are allergic, your eyes will swell up. The first time you try it, you may want to apply it at night, just in case, so the swelling can go down before you have to go out in public again. I only had slight swelling on my face from it but when it got close to my eyes, it was a big problem.

.

Thks for advices....I'm going to try the avocado oil once figure it out where to buy that stuff from...love Tanaka

What about carnelian oil? Its also a well known japanese oil thats used for massage and facial massage too. I like avocado oil, but love the pure oil I used to get sent from my friends in Japan (before they moved to the US!).

Yes! I was already doing OCM to cleanse my face but finishing up with jojoba oil for the Tanaka massage. So, I was already massaging my face twice a day without the acne problem. There is something about the Tanaka massage that detoxes your skin. When I switched to OCM oils for the Tanaka massage, it helped with the spots.

Hi Tonia,
That's interesting - you found massaging with the OCM oils helped (but did it stop?) the spots? I tried a number of oils (avocado, hempseed, macadamia, my cleansing oil) but had no luck with any. And I've just begun the massage again after a 3week+ break and now have a huge cyst on my chin. Rolling Eyes

Have you tried mixing in some castor oil? It hasn't done a thing for me, but I recall reading miraculous purging stories on the OCM thread.

I also had some breakouts from the massage ( I believe it is detoxing), but it healed quite fast.

I also read on the Russian forum, that it is better to do a massage not with oil (too slippery), but with a massage cream, or "oat milk" - basically anything that allows sliding without being too slippery.

Stephanie - thank you so much for an English voice over - it is fantastic.

You may have a point there Sigma re. not using oils but a massage cream.
So I've just spent the last 15 mins searching for advice on good facial massage creams without oils but haven't come up with anything. Any ideas? Preferably an off-the-shelf brand rather than high-end.

I’ve used different oils and creams to do Tanaka massage. There’re either too slippery or did not glide smoothly.

My husband just came back from Japan and bought me 2 jars of Zogan cream which Critic posted the link earlier. http://www.ymethod.com/product/zogan.html I used the Zogan cream this morning, it did feel good. The texture felt very familiar but I could not think of any cream I’ve used is similar to it. After turning 50 my memory is fading…..

After 6 weeks doing Tanaka massage my NL did not getting any better but gave me lots of “bumps” around my temples and huge pimples which I never had in my life. I’ll see if it’ll make a difference by using Zogan cream.

Thanks for posting the photo of Tanaka without the hat Critic!
She really looks amazing, late 30s early 40s.

Do you know if she does anything other than her massage? Or offer any other advice. Like what kind of diet, useful gadgets, etc etc?
She has her own skincare line, do you know if there is anything special about it? Like if it uses particular ingredients?

Basically any other morsel of info re how to look like THAT!

I was wondering the same thing!

Does she look that good just from doing the Tanaka massage? If so I'd better get started! Laughing

Thanks Critic for sharing the photo with us. Tanaka looks about 20 years younger than her age and she is definitely an inspiration for me.

I'm been doing Tanaka's massage for about 3 months and it gives a very nice lift to my whole face. The shape of face has altered to more like an oval shape. Although I had a couple of cystic acne in the first few weeks (probably due to the detox effect), my skin become much firmer, clearer and smoother after about 2 months with a lovely glow. And the gauntness I experienced after doing resistance facial exercises is about 80% gone. Can't be more pleased with the result!!! Very Happy

Thanks Critic again for sharing this powerful technique!!!

Do you find now that you keep the results even if you miss doing the massage for a few days?

I just had lunch with a friend her is an alternative health practitioner who i haven't seem in a while. My life is pretty stressful and after we had been seated for a few minutes she said "What have you had done you can't look that good with the stress you are under"
I know its a combo of things and as an ex researcher I should have taken a more scientific approach but i just started every thing together!
I have for the last 6 weeks started the massage but I also take some vitamins recommended from Antonia, have been using Safetox for about 3 months AND bought the dermabrasion machine. A combo of all is making me look very refreshed glowing and dare I say YOUNGER. Shock
