When you're that thin, isn't it sometimes common that you don't get your period, or that it's very erratic? |
I can attest to that: when I was 13-14, I actually stopped having my period for nearly a year because I was going through a period of unwilling “anorexia:” my evil step-mom decided I was too fat -- I weighed 115lbs! -- and forced me to eat only lettuce and carrots and run 26-miles per day on a treadmill and do 1,000 situps per day. I was literally exercising non-stop from the time the sun rose till way after it went down in the evenings.
She would weigh me 3 times daily and would literally beat the sh*t out of me if I didn't lose a pound each day – I quickly learned never to take even a sip of water before I stepped on that scale or she would backhand me across the face and cut my face open with the prongs of her wedding ring. I'm 5'6" and she forced me to go down to less than 95-pounds before the police finally placed me into protective custody and put me in a foster home even though I had been begging anyone who would listen to help me for months.
During that time, I stopped having my period (which, in hindsight, wasn’t such a bad thing!) and my hair and fingernails actually started falling out from lack of nutrition. I was literally dying for something to eat!!
So, anyway, yeah: starving one’s self death will definitely mess with one’s ability to conceive a child.
Personally, I think that even if Posh WERE still having her period, her body wouldn’t allow her to conceive because it knows that there aren’t enough nutrients in her that would allow a healthy pregnancy to flourish! |
OMG, Carekate...I'm so sorry you had to go through that! Your stepmom sounds certifiably insane... |

Frak Carrie! I hope she went to jail for that abuse. What a biotch; I empathize as I've some past negativity, as well.
Positive vibes. |

That is horrible! It's good to see that you came out on top, being so generous and helpful to people on EDS, and no doubt in your "real life" too. =)
My mom had an awful time growing up with her mom; I couldn't imagine some of the thing she used to do her. My brother and I are so fortunate to not have ever experienced anything like that, and I've taken it for granted far too long.

Changing the topic:
I was reading an article in Allure magazine on how celebs get away with so much with plastic surgeons, house calls, even out of country house calls or if one doctor will not perform a surgery for whatever health risks are inlvoved, they find someone else. Example Star Jones had anemia and several dcotors would not perform the breast reduction she wanted so she found someone that would and as you heard, she had terrible bleeding and they had to call 911. Very interesting article in this Sept's Allure. |

My gosh you have my sympathy...
I wonder the same. did she ever get help or even acknowlege what she did? I have never heard of forced anorexia before. wonder how common that is?
What did SHE look like? Did she have her own appearance issues? |

Here is an ONLY IN JAPAN story for you (about Britney babe)
TOKYO'S subway has refused permission for an advertising poster featuring a nude and heavily pregnant Britney Spears, branding it "too stimulating" for young people.
The picture of the pop singer - nude but covering her breasts with her arms and crossing her legs at the knee - appeared in the August issue of Harper's Bazaar and will be on the cover of the magazine's Japanese edition in October.
The publishers had hoped to display the cover photo for a week at a subway station in a trendy part of central Tokyo, but ran into resistance.
"We thought some of our customers would find it to be overly stimulating," said a Tokyo Metro official.
Harper's Bazaar could not be reached for comment.
Not all was lost.
The Metro and the publishers agreed to display the poster after all but masked the picture below the former teen idol's elbow with a statement reading: "We apologise for hiding part of a beautiful image of a mother-to-be."
OK, now the story had the Harper's cover and I had never really looked at it before (yes, old news, but then ...) what on earth happened to the girls nipple? (right breast) where did it go? Lordy, lord, they must already be pointing in a very southerly direction given her hand positioning - OR did they mistakenly airbrush them out when they were redoing her body (next to Beck's arse, this is the most obvious photo editing I have ever seen - looks like a totally different person under the elbow) |

I'm so sorry Carekate. I really hope that woman gets what she deserves.
Here's the gossip of the day:
Paramount dumped Tom Cruise.

Well, well, well: looks like Cindy Crawford isn't a natural beauty, afterall! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/showbiz/showbiznews.html?in_article_id=402085&in_page_id=1773
This doesn't surprise me in the least because you could totally tell she'd had work done in those RoomsToGo furniture commericals she was doing earlier in the year.... |

Doesn't surprise me either that she's had work...but interesting that she finally ‘fessed up about it! I think it would be refreshing if more celebs (besides Joan Rivers…lol) just admitted that they do rely on surgery, injections, etc. to look as good as they do. I’m not saying they have to post a list of “What I’ve Had Done”…but it is ridiculous when they act like the reason they have zero wrinkles or sags at age 40-50+ is simply because they found a great moisturizer. Or maybe their egos just won’t let them admit they are anything less than 100% naturally stunning? At any rate, it’s not like there aren’t a zillion photos of them out there from their “pre-procedure” days that people can compare and contrast with their new (and supposedly au natural) face! |

If memory serves me, Cindy Crawford has admitted to vit injections in her face, for years, the dr. that created her line, dr sebagh, is the dr that they all flocked too for those injections. The rest of her fillers I've never heard her mention. |

I still can't get over Joan Rivers. Her skin is so tight and her face just looks unnatural.
I always change the channel whenever she's on the Shopping Channel. It's just not right to sell a skin care line when you've got so much work done. |

OK, I cannot see the first pic, but I have always thought that girl has a very tragic ba-surgery face. She is pretty scarey. |

Have y’all heard about the latest salvo between celebutards Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan where Paris is being investigated for possible federal charges after using a Spoofcard to hack into LL’s voice mail and send fraudulent messages under the guise of being from Lindsay? Now, I don’t have time for either or these wastes of oxygen, but if this turns out to be true, I don’t think Paris truly appreciates how many federal and state laws she violated and that she could very well be facing the prospect of serious jail time and it could very well be that there isn’t enough money left in Grandpappy Conrad’s coffers to bail this immature little b*tch out of trouble this time!
