That there might be a "bad batch" concerns me and illuminates the differences between the import of the medical products branch of a company, and the cosmetic branch. Certainly there cannot be a "bad batch" for medical purposes, so where is quality control for the cosmetic production? Hmmm.
That said, I don't think it fair to expect RL to be scent-free, or entirely pleasantly scented. However, the product scent should be consistent from batch to batch. Perhaps this is just a case of an overly sensitive nose, or perhaps not. |

Ethel, I thought of this as well, but then I also considered what if I am just being overly sensitive from a smell perspective? I do have a very sensitive sense of smell, and can't tolerate most scented stuff.
I wish I had thought of this before now because I head to the airport again tomorrow morning, but I will leave the RL bottle out for my neighbor who is pet sitting for me. I am going to ask her to put a little on the back of her hand and tell me what she thinks of the smell before I send it back. That way we will know if it is just me OR if it is a bad batch. |

@bethany I've been using mine for a couple weeks now and I got mine sent all the way to Austria too. Mine has a yeast like smell. It's not strong and goes away after a couple minutes. Not sure if that helps you at all . Good luck |

Thanks...maybe I'll give it another shot when I get back in town. But to be truthful, I am really dreading it! |

My Mac decided to change australia to austria LOL
bethany I have a very strong sense of smell and I can't stand using things with strong fragrances and odours. I can handle this so if the smell is so bad that you "dread" using it then return it. If they are willing to replace it then you have nothing to loose but a bit of wasted time.
Take care |

I don't believe mine was off. The smell is apparent as I apply the serum, and lasts for about half a minute or so. A bit like Skinceiticals CE Ferulics which has a smell likened by some to hot dogs.
I don't think it's off, I just don't like the smell and that's important to me - my skin care is "me time" and I want to feel pampered, not disgusted.
On another note - I had also ordered the Reluma lash serum when I ordered the trio and in the past 2 days my lashes have suddenly "popped" - I wiped my eye yesterday and could feel my lashes were longer! So the keepers from this range are the cleanser and eyelash serum for me. |

Bethany there is a "slight" odor to mine, but it really goes poof within 30 seconds or so. Again its not offensive to me nor is it perfumy at all. Its definately not a SPA smell, which I actually prefer, I can't do perfumes.
But if you try it again, give it a minute and see if the smell goes poof! |

For what it is worth on smells I tested a large dollop of both my serums from two sources on the back of my hands (one on each) and aside from a slight odor of a "clean" natural scent nothing at all OFF smelling. maybe some are accustomed to heavily perfumed skin care and that is an issue, me personally I can't tolerate that at all! |

Definately not the case. I can tell the difference between perfumed, neutral, medical and yuck smells. I do like slightly perfumed (love Valmont), don't mind medical, can put up with some yuck (Skinceutricals CE Ferulic), but not others (Reluma serum, that other horrid fishy smelling stuff, DMAE is it? From Dr Perricone, that is the worst, I took that one back thinking it WAS off). The Reluma cleanser smells divine. |

I am just trying to let all know out of 2 sets from 2 different sources there's barely any odor to the serum or cream with either of mine. A very slight faint smell (not YUCK) that dissipates almost instantly.
So some may have an issue but it seems most of us using the product for a while have had no such issues. |

I received the cleanser, serum, and moisturizer trio about five weeks ago. To my nose, the cleanser has a clean (haha), soapy scent; the moisturizer has a somewhat similar clean scent; and the serum has a different, very slight odor. I can't pinpoint the serum scent to make a comparison to another smell, but whatever it is, it's barely detectable. I think that if anyone's serum has a strong odor of any kind then something is wrong. |

No, no results to report yet. The only thing I can say for sure is that my face does feel moisturized using the products and sometimes seems to have a "glow."
However, I have only been using the trio once a day (on average) for the past five weeks. I intentionally used them only once a day during the first week in case I had a reaction to the products. The following weeks I've only used them about once a day due to laziness on my part.
I usually work from home and I haven't worn any makeup during the past month (I rarely do), so I often don't feel the need to wash my face at night (it doesn't feel "dirty") or I'm just too tired in the evenings and time gets away from me. I'm going to make a concerted effort from now on to always use the serum twice a day. I like the ReLuma cleanser a lot, but there are three other cleansers (one glycolic) that I also used after the first week, so I probably used the ReLuma cleanser about four days a week. I use the serum at least once a day (in the morning) and maybe three times a week in evenings. I use the ReLuma moisturizer after the serum in the mornings, but in the evenings I've occasionally used a different moisturizer.
The first time I applied the serum my skin seemed to instantly suck it up like a vacuum. Before I could even finish spreading it across my face, it had already completely absorbed. I think I used two full pumps the first day. By the third day that instant absorption no longer occurred. I only use one pump at a time now. On the third day of use I developed small bumps on each side of my chin. That lasted for two or three days then went away. I also got a bump or breakout on my cheek after about a week of use, but I don't know for sure if it was a reaction to the ReLuma or a new sunscreen I tested. The bump went away (left a mark), and I haven't had any other adverse reactions since then.
I am using ReLuma mainly in the hopes of addressing uneven skin tone (maybe melasma?) and several spots of hyperpigmentation. I also would like increased skin moisturization. And I have two deep grooves under each eye. I wear glasses and don't usually pay attention to them since my eye area is covered, but it would be nice if they'd go away. I also have smile lines on the sides of my mouth, but I'm not too concerned about those. I don't have any wrinkles. But suddenly, about six months ago, I seem to have developed enlarged pores on my cheeks (or at least I suddenly noticed them). I don't know if ReLuma can do anything about my pores, but I'm watching for a change there, too.
In addition to overall blotchy cheeks and chin, I have four dark spots on the left side of my face and three on my right that I'm monitoring. One of the spots on my left developed in January of this year in reaction to using BioEffect serum (ugh!). (BioEffect was awful for me. I stopped using it after two and a half weeks not only because of the breakout but because it quickly made me look so much worse--skin looked twice as old and haggard.) The other three spots on my left side have been there for two full years. (A few other spots on my face have come and gone during this time.) Those spots have faded about 40 percent in two years. I'd say that they've faded maybe another 5 percent during the month I've used ReLuma. Two of the spots on my right cheek have been there for about two months (the other is the new one).
I plan to use the trio for at least three months or until the bottles are empty. Even though I know it normally takes at least two or three months to see results, I'm bad about abandoning products after a month or so if I'm not getting results. I think it will be easier to stick with ReLuma, though, for a full three months because it's a simple system, pleasant to use and feels good going on and my skin does look and feel moisturized and it doesn't appear to be doing any harm.
I'll let you all know how it goes after three months, but I don't know if my comments will be helpful since it won't be a pure test of ReLuma's effectiveness. Going forward I plan to use the ReLuma cleanser at least once a day. Several mornings a week I'll also be using an exfoliating scrub. I'm going to use the serum all over my face every morning, followed by the ReLuma moisturizer on one side of my face and another moisturizer (Makana) I'm testing out on the other side of my face. Some mornings I might also apply a bit of La Roche-Posay Effaclar K (a salicylic acne treatment--I don't have acne problems per se, just a random pimple here or there--seems partly hormonal, partly environmental. I can go three or four months without a spot, then boom!, and it always leaves a lasting mark.).
Each night I plan to use the ReLuma serum followed by either a retinol cream (have not used in several months), the Osea Advanced Protection Cream (just started using), or Tammy Fender Intensive Repair Balm (have not ordered yet). A couple of nights a week I will probably also use Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel pads after I cleanse. And once a week I'll probably use one of the masks I have here.
I also bought a PMD machine a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't used it yet, because I wanted to see the effects of the ReLuma without it, and also because I just haven't had time to review the instructions (and I'm also a little bit scared that I'll hurt myself). I will soon start using it once a week.
Hoping something in this routine will work! |

Great review Renata! Thank you, for pores and hyperpigmentation, I would use the PMD with this as well. I do think it helps the products penetrate better, as well as helps the skin issues. I'd also feel free to add anything you think might boost the effects to what you need. I know others are trying different things with this product, it will be interesting to see what combination does what.
Don't be afraid of PMD, just be cautious hold your skin firm and keep it moving, do not go over same areas more than twice, first few times, don't even go over them twice. If you do get an oops, use the serum, its amazing at how fast they heal with it.
Hope that helps and thanks again! |

I have used only the serum for about 10 days so far, using my own moisturizers. One drop never seems enough, its sink right in almost immediately, so I use almost two drops. Though my pigmentation remains the same (probably too early to tell yet anyway) and fine lines still there, the face seems to have an even tone to it, if that makes sense.....it also seems fresher/brighter. I am liking it so far..... |

Thanks for the tips on using the PMD, Tiny. I forgot to mention that last week I finally heard back from buyrelumanow.com about how to use ReLuma serum with other products. I think everyone was already following this order of application anyway, but here's what they said: "If it is a retinol cream then the Reluma should be used first since it is a serum which is a lighter consistency. For your knowledge this is the order products should be applied for optimum absorption: Liquids first- Gels second. Lotions third and cream last. Hope it helped." |

Yep, always thinnest to thickest. I also (old age, can't remember) but use the RL serum wait 15 mins, then add anything you want. After 15 mins its gone in and won't be effected. This might be true with any and all stem cell products. |

Thanks for the reply, Renata, and thank you for outlining your routine. It definitely helps people decide whether to try a product/products when they have all the info! I hope you will post updates on your experience with the Reluma! |

Riley I now forget what all are you using with RL? And hows the red/dry patch? I had that on my elbow once, it took years to go away.
Karen, perhaps you can start a lash thread, I know I am interested in your results, as well as DM's. I assume other lash ladies would be too. Oh and just so you don't feel you have to post results in skincare forum and this one, ones for the science (skincare forum) and this one is for the reviews. Sorry just read your post on having to post on both. |

Actually no other product except oil on top of the Reluma serum. I use the La Bella Figura Tesoro oil, which I completely love. I used the Environ AVST/Colostrum for 2 days and then stopped as I was not sure if there was an issue with the Colostrum and Reluma and I did not want to take any chances. The red patch remains gone. No other changes at this time. |
