Wow, I love this site! I wanted to know what would be recommended as a complete regimen for skin that is dry and yet oily with large clogged pores and acneic in a mid-thirties person? Thanks so much and I look forward to reading your reply. |

Have no fear! Casper's Mum is here! (ta-daaaaaa!)
Based on what you have described, it sounds like you have combination (not dry) skin. Your skin may feel taught in areas due to dehydration. Easy to confuse, and I will offer some suggestions to help rectify your woes.
First of all, try MD Formulations Cleanser With Glycolic Acid. This will cleanse & gently exfoliate skin. Exfoliation will help remove the dead skin cells/barrier that not only trap oil & dirt (blemish causing), but can also prevent your skincare from being as effective as it should be. Follow with a toner such as Phytomer's Eau Marine Lotion; this will restore skin to it's natural pH, and prepare it for other skincare.
Daytime: Skinceuticals Serum 10, followed by Skinceuticals Hydra B-5 Gel. The l-ascorbic/ascobic acid in Serum 10 are not only repairative & anti-aging, but also help in the blemish dept. Hydra B-5 is essential to use when using a vit. C product, and will boost your skin's hydration levels, and enhance the hydration properties of your moisturizer. Moisturizer follows these products. I suggest trying: Phytomer Hydration Continue Moisturizer, Sothys Capitale Fermente Light, Yonka Creme 93, or DR. Renaud Natigene Collagen Gel. Use a sunscreen year round!
Evening: Hydra B-5, followed by Dr. Renaud Natigene Collagen Gel, Skinceuticals Renew Overnight N-Oily, MD Formulations Vit-A-Plus Clearing Complex, or Yonka Phyto 58 N-Oily Skin.
You may want to use a hydrating mask such as Dermalogica's Skin Hydrating Masque, and a treatment/deep cleansing mask such as Peter Thomas Roth Theraputic Sulfur Mask.
