I was pondering the ingredients of BE's Mineral Veil and noticed it was mainly corn starch. Has anyone tried mixing corn starch powder from personal formulator with a little of their titanium dioxide to create their own mineral veil? I'm going to order the products and give it a try but was curious if anyone has blazed the trail before me. Wink

how are you going to deal with the color? BE mineral veil has an ivory tint to it.

I have 2 pots mineral veil that I probably will never use. Would you like me to send it to you so you have something to compare your potion to??? Laughing

I've used plain cornstarch from the supermarket as a finishing powder in summer to keep the oilies at bay. As long as you use a very small amount it doesn't look too white, and I have light olive toned skin. I've also used it as a mineral veil by mixing around 50/50 cornstarch with a mineral powder foundation that was too dark, so I ended up with a colour that was perfect for me. Buy some mineral foundation samples from Ebay dirt cheap and start mixing. You certainly don't need to use cornstarch from the personal formulator, just from your local supermarket. One thing to check is that the cornstarch is actually made from corn, not wheat. Extra fine wheat flour is often sold as cornstarch (at least here in Australia). Lastly, cornstarch has healing properties and can be used as a substitute for talcum powder for yourself or for babies bums.
