I recently purchased the Gatineau Electelle Lip Care from strawberry.net through ebay. The product arrived perfectly packaged and it looked brand new to me. I used it for a couple of days, but the texture and feel was not what I expected from the reviews I have read. It was a transparent oily fluid that did not moisturize my lips at all. I thought that maybe it was counterfeit. It is only now after two days of use that the creamy pinkish texture is comming out of the tube. Is this normal to happen when a new tube is opened? Should I be concerned about the product being old or about any ingredient separation? This is just too expensive to not worry about... Confused

I've gone through about 3 tubes of Electelle since I first fell in love with it (I use it only at night as an intensive treatment), but all 3 of my tubes were the creamy pink texture from the start. My first tube I bought fromwww.fragrance-net.com (would NOT recommend b/c it took nearly 3 weeks to receive it!), and the other two I got from a British Ebayer.

I hate to say this, but you probably got taken. Sad

Mine is pink as well. It sounds like yours had separated. That may be related to age but also to storage and temperatures I guess...

I suspected something was not right. And now that the texture is creamy, there is a rancid taste to it. Maybe it's just old. It's not even moisturizing well.

I think I will be very cautious from now on about places that sell cheaper products (the site where I bought the lip balm is in Hong Kong) and no true guarantees. You really get what you pay for... Crying or Very sad

I can look up the name of the British Ebayer that I order my Gatineau from, it was someone that Gucci (another EDS member) recommended, and I've since purchased from this lady several times and all transaction went very smoothly...let me go hunt down her name. Stay tuned!

The web site strawberrynet based in HK & fragrancenet based in US could be the same owner, I guess. Some EDS members have placed orders from them and they said no problem. We have to be careful to order from free market in Asia as what Caspers Mum said in EDS forum.

Does this lip stuff have a cumulative effect over time, or does it just plump up your lips temporarily while you're wearing it?

I haven't found it to have any lip plumping qualities whatsoever and I've been using it for over a year. What it is is a fabulous, intensive overnight lip moisturizing treatment. I wouldn't use it during the day b/c it's a creamy, opaque, pale pink color....
