I have heard of many people using yogurt and sour cream in homemade facial masks. As I was researching this I found that yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese and cultured buttermilk are all high in lactic acid, a natural exfoliating AHA.
So, I took my first buttermilk bath today after a nice cross country ski and I feel smoooooooth! Does anyone else use buttermilk in their beauty regime? |

How much buttermilk did you put in the bath? I've never tried it before but it sounds nice!! |

I bought one quart of Wilcox Bulgarian Cultured Buttermilk (made with whole milk not 1%)at my local supermarket and poured half of it in the bath.
That's equivalent to 2 pints or 16 fl. oz.
I don't really like the smell of it straight but diluted it seems fine to my nose. My husband didn't notice and this is a guy who thought something was burning when I had just used my pumpkin mask. So it must be ok.
It added a luxurious creamy feel to the water and for 20 min. I did feel like Cleopatra! |
