So it's now been 1 week with the NuDerm system.
I must admit, the products, especially in the morning are a bit greasy for me, but if I let it sit 15 minutes or so before my makeup, it goes on ok and doesn't appear greasy later in the day.
As for the peeling and redness, I only just started to get minimal peeling yesturday, mostly around the chin, upper lip and nose--and not only later in the day. This morning I also noticed some drying around the eyes/cheeks, but only slightly. Redness is also minimal.
Although most people have commented about horrible peeling and stopping as a result, I was looking forward to it, since that means it's working! (crazy, I know!). We'll see what happens next week! But I have had a few breakouts, and some of the melasma areas seem darker, but it may be because I'm paying more attention to it. One last thing, and this is odd, but I was looking at my face last night and I noticed a very small mustache--yuck!!! Is it just because I'm looking closely or what? Hmmm.
ANyways, that's it for week one. Again, strange as it is, I really hope I'll experience some more peeling next week. I also got my Vit C serum for the face, but I don't want to use it until at least week 4--I'm only using the eye serum now.
Again, I took a picture before I started and will do so regularly, but since little has happened, I will wait. |

It's not quite week 2 yet, but the day after this post, I started to get quite a bit more dryness and peeling--especially around my chin.
My skin is also very red and for the first time, I can really feel a reaction from the clear and Exoderm--my whole face tingles and flushes. Also, I feel very tight in my face and can understand how people now say they would smile and the skin would flake.
ANyways, still very happy. We'll see what happens the rest of the week. I'm running a marathon Sunday, so I may lay off the Renova Saturday night and just use sunscreen it the am until after I run! |

I just started Obagi tonight. I need to find a good way to mix the retin-a with the blender, that is a pain! I should have started in the winter instead of summer, but oh well, i'm ready for better looking skin! |

Lanie,
Have fun and let me know how it goes for you--mine has been interesting so far!
Witht he Retin A, I just put a pea size amount in my left palm and then 1/2 gram of blender next to it and mix them with my hand. There always seems to be a lot, but it gets soaked in after a few minutes.
I also heard someone say they put on the blender first, let it dry and then retin-A over it. It seemed like you'd use more product than you need with that method though.
So I'm almost 2 weeks in and red as a tomato, but my skin is very smooth and I'm pleased. I think as long as you know before and are prepared for the "uglies" it's not too bad. I will be updating each week.
Again, let me know how it works for you--and what you're using it for. |

I'm still a little red, but once I put BE on, it looks more like a slight sunburn. Flaking but nothing I can't stand. I'm really liking the feel of my skin now. It's still got a long way to go. |

hi ladies!
i wanted to know how your skin is; i'm starting my 4th week now and it's really getting to me. the 2nd week the only peeling i had was where my face was broken out but now it's doing it everywhere and i HATE going out and talking to people because i feel so gross. i bring the exfoderm to work so it's not so bad all day, but it's still driving me nuts! i have to go to a cubs game friday for my new job and i'm dreading meeting clients....
i saw a recipe for an AHA facial with pineapple, honey and papaya and i'm tempted to use it, but i know i should just stick with what the doctor gave me. any advise!? |

I'm going into my 5th week and I'm still flaking mostly, but see a real difference. My husband commented on it Friday!! Yippee!! It's working. I really don't mind it, but I work mainly by myself so...not too bad. |

This sounds gross, but my skin flaking isn't what's so bad to me; it's where my skin was broken out that's become kind of scab-like. I think it's the Retin-A drying it out, which is good, but it's disgusting looking. I just graduated from college and it's hard to go out and talk to guys when I just want to put a bag over my head...thank God for dark bars!
I am doing 3 microderms while in Phase 1 of Obagi so hopefully that will help. Has anyone been using it for awhile and think it's worth 6 weeks of agony? I'm being just a little dramatic..... |

I think it's going to be worth it. My husband and people at work have already commented that my skin is really looking good, flaking and all Today the flaking was the worse that I've had, my nose, right between my eyes and around my eyes, and mouth!!! I started on 5/20 and will tough it out. It's just not really that bad, of course I'm not in college |
