I've read a few posts about people using oils under their eyes (avocado, jojoba, wheat germ) and am wondering if they could cause milia? I've been using Caudalie countour creme which seems to be OK, but I think it might have been the cause of a strange red, dry/scaly patch on my eyelid.

As a side question - any suggestions for eyecreams that don't cause milia?

Thanks!

I use olive oil under my eyes and no milia so far....

I'd stop using any eye treatments for a bit to see if the problem goes away....then reintroduce it to find out if it is the culprit or if it was just a freak occurance.

I use emu oil under my eyes and everywhere else for that matter. Smile It is not irritating and is much like the sebum (natural oils) that are found naturally in human skin, so it should not be irritating nor break you out. Just be sure that it doesn't have any vitamin E added to it if you are sensitive to it, the vitamin E has left me red and irritated. Also make sure it is completely refined so as to remove any bacteria in it and is of cosmetic and pharmeceutical grade. It's the best moisturizer I've ever used. It also helps other products such as serums to penetrate deeper if applied over other products. Surprised

Thanks for your replies! I have a bottle of squalene on it's way and am tempted to try emu too. I'm also collecting samples of eye creams to figure out if I want to go with a cream or an oil.

I was in Sephora today and the SA was telling me I should only be applying eye creams to the orbital bones? I'm going to post a separate Q right now...

Camellia and rosehip seed oil are both very light and can be used even on the eyelids.
