Has any one used Triple C Serum by Diana Yvonne?? If so, how did it work? Was the consistency too drying, too oily?? I'm trying to decide which serum to use. I just bought one by Kiehl's but not sure if its too oily for my acne prone skin yet. Anyone used either of these brands??

Hmmm, don't know about what it will do for your skin type, looking forward to hearing what others say. I just looked the site up and have all the ingredients (except the xantham gum and the parabens) wonder what the %'s of each are?

Hi Candy,

I don't know about parabens ... but the percentage of xanthan gum would be quite low.

Xantham gum should be available in the "special" section of your grocery store ... wherever specialty products for specific health needs like diabetic products. It's a "suspending" agent ... which I use to help thicken things like gravy when I don't use flour.

It binds with water and a very very small amount is necessary to do this. While it isn't a "gelling" agent, it seems to mimic that ... and as little as 1/32 tsp is enough to thicken a full pan of gravy. Wink

I'm not quite sure why one would use both an emulsifier and a suspending agent in the same product, but since xanthan gum is used in lots of cosmetic preparations, there is obviously a "chemistry" reason for it.

Xanathan gum seems to be expensive, with a smallish bag selling for around $11 in my area. However, because you use so little of it, that smallish bag will last for such a long time ... like a couple of years ... it's really not an expensive ingredient to use.

HTH

Mary

You can guess I didn't much like it Wink but I see over on skincarecentral that Professional Solutions are reformulating so fingers crossed for a better brew.

Thanks Molly. It looks like I will keep away from this unless there is a new formulation for sure.

I keep trying to register at the skincare board but can never get in. Do they not need any more new members? this is my second time trying since a year ago. I never get a confirmation email ever.

It used to be a fairly informative board awhile ago but not anymore.....I visit it maybe every every month just to see if I recognize anyone. When I tried their Triple C it didn't do a thing for me, it left a film on my face and it really didn't agree w/ my skin. I now use Candy's and love it.

Yes, the system's a bit shaky over there these days. I had trouble logging on and re-registered a month or so ago, but the new registration eventually worked.

Does it have water in it? If so, there goes the effectiveness....l-ascorbic acid is so sensitive to oxygen in water and it is the most effective form of C....though it seems there are some new stable forms emerging in the marketplace now. Still waiting for more research on those though....

Just spotted the new formulation is finally out
http://www.skincarecentral.biz/Triple-C-serum.html
so here's the new addition
"Ascorbyl Glucoside has proven antioxidant, skin lightening and age-spot reduction efficacy and has been historically recognised in Japan as a Quasi drug for skin whitening." used alongside MAP and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate.

Looks interesting if anyone wants to try it and report back Smile

Thanks Molly! I would also be interested in some feedback on the new triple C.

betterat40--i notice almost all the C serums have some sort of water in them, even skinceuticals (which i view as super trustworthy in terms of C serums).

I have had two DianneYvonne orders get lost in the post. Crying or Very sad

Unbelievable.

(somewhat OT I know, but I found a place to gripe, so I took it. And griped in it.)
