first let me say, happy festivus to all!!!
any moisturizer recommendations for dry skin that leaves a matte finish?
the same for sunscreen -- a great matte finish, decently high spf, and non-oily?
(should i be getting sunBLOCK or sunSCREEN? i've always been confused about this)
i'm leaning toward that uhh shiseido one? it's spf 33+++++ extra moisturizing something or other. mainly because it comes in a cool tube. and i've heard the dr.h rose cream is good too. all recommendations are appreciated!

I can help with the sunscreen. Try DHC White SPF 25. It's a broad spectrum, stable, physical sunscreen that leaves a beautiful non-oily finish. I'm on my fourth tube and I love it! Alot of people like the Shiseido but it clogs my pores.
If you aren't famililar with DHC ou can browse their products here:

DHC White was actually the last sunscreen I bought. i didn't like it though because it leaves me with shine and the bottle's way too small to re-purchase
perhaps i wasn't meant to be matte |

Who woulda thought buying a potent, stable, non-greasy sunscreen/sunblock would be so hard |

Yes the tubes are very small (1 oz). I go through a bottle each month. But the DHC does leave me matte, but perhaps this winter my skin isn't as oily. It really works well for me though.
One low-cost sunscreen that gets raves on MUA is Hawaiian Tropic Oil-Free Faces SPF 30. I think it's about $7-9 USD for a 4oz bottle. It's a chemical sunscreen that is supposed to be photostable also. I want to try that one next, but generally the physical sunscreens work best for me.

Avene and La Roche Posay are good sunscreens |

funny enough, my aunt just handed me a tube of La Roche "Lipikar Lipid-Replenishing Body Emollient". she said she doesn't use it! is this a good moisturizer? i can't view any ingredients on their website. does it have any spf protection? |

i went to sephora for the very first time today with my cousin and lo and behold, there stood a shelf proudly displaying all sorts of shiseido products. i put on some of the spf 55 sunscreen...
*moment of silence*
my face has never felt softer! my smile is twice that size! i found it i found it i found it i found it i found it! THANKS FOR EVERYONE'S HELP!
if the experience couldn't have gotten any better, my cousin walked over and said "oh shiseido, that's the company so-and-so works for" (one of my other relatives). now i can get any shiseido product for half the price!
so you know who to call when you want a discount!
YAAAAY! |

Shiseido would be the one for you. Anessa (by Shiseido) is also good as well |

Shiseido will definitely leave a matte finish. Also other ones that people rave about on here is the Sofina which I haven't tried though, just the Shiseido spf 55 |
