Hi!
I have no idea what it could be. Maybe fish or shellfish extract or nuts? think that these are the most common allergies.
You should probably see a doctor about this, especially if it looks serious or if it is troubling you.
Good luck and hope it gets better soon! |

Yea, I would pop over to the doctor, they can arrange for a patch test for allergies. basically you go in and they do little needle pricks on the inside of your forearm with different substances and any irritations will show up. Might be a good place to start. |

A rash can be caused by any number of things. Have you checked to make sure it's not caused by laundry detergent or fabric softener ?
Some common food allergens are dairy, wheat, soy, sugar, eggs and processed foods. Shellfish and fish is not uncommon either. You might want to keep a food diary listing EVERYTHING you put in your mouth -you may see patterns emerging that you could never see otherwise (can you remember what you had for lunch yesterday?). It's not always easy because a reaction can be delayed- by days even. You could take your pulse before and after a suspected food. A slight increase is ok but a significant increase probably means you're having a reaction. Also sometimes it's a combination of foods that will trigger things off . For example, a person might not be allergic to any of the spices that go into making curry when consummed individually but be allergic to curry!). Also quantity can make a difference- you might be able to eat a certain amount of a food but not more.
An elimination diet is another way. You can google that and find plenty of info. Basically you eliminate the most common allergens for a number of weeks and then reintroduce them one at a time over a period of time.
Another thing you can try is muscle testing. It works on the principle that a harmful substance will disrupts the body's energy field and cause the muscles to go weak. You will need a partner to do this. Stand and hold your right arm out horizontally towards your right, (left if you are left handed) palm facing down and have your partner put his/her fingers on your wrist and try to push your arm down to test your normal strength while you resist ( medium resistance, this isn't arm wrestling!) Then try holding the food you want to test in your other hand against your body near your solar plexus and you might say "this food is good for my body". Have your partner try to push your arm down. If it isn't good for you, your arm will go down! You can test the method: put the food down and relax that arm. Put your right arm out and say "My name is....(whatever your name is)" and your arm will be strong, but when you try it saying that you are someone else your arm will go down! (lying disrupts your energy field!).
Stress can be a big factor too. If life is handing you lemons these days, try to find something to destress- exercise (in moderation), yoga, meditation, whatever you enjoy so that you will do it regularly.
If the problem persists you might want to check with your doctor.
Wish you well! |

Tigertim: Yeah... I will be getting an allergy test next week. It is just.... I am kinda worried and cannot wait til the test
Mimsy: I think you are right about the quantity thing..... I ate some leftover from what I thought might have caused my allergy, and I did not feel anything.....
And stress..... hahaha this is a difficult one.... I am always under stress
Anyways... do you girls know a good detox diet....
When I was little I was allergy to lots of things... and I remember my mom only fed me rice and veggies for months. So I guess, it sorta detoxed my body?
I want an easy detox diet..... coz mommy is not here to feed me nomore |

As a child I had trouble with allergies, seemed to out grow them. About 2 years ago started with the hives again, had allergy testing done, nothing really showed up. I have been better lately, (knock on wood, lol!), but about every 3 or 4 months I will have my eyes swell, ect.
Seems to be something I am eating, hard to pinpoint it. The derm. said allergies are hard to diagnose, could be a combo. of things, something you were allergic to you can out grow, or become allergic to something you have used your whole life.
I pop the benadryl when it comes, but that knocks you right out.
Stress doesn't help as well. |

Gina... I agree this whole allergy thing is just plain awful....
I am actually kinda scared to get the allergy test done, not because of the actual test itself(I had it done as a kid), but of the result. Last year I just got this wonderful dog..... and I am so scared that dog's hair will come out as one of the allergen.
<sigh> If that happens, I am sure my mom will pressure me to get rid of her. But she is so cute.....
anyways... back to the detx diet? anybody can help me with this? |

When I had this problem a few years ago, my doctor put me on an elimination diet: no dairy (ouch!), no starches, carbohydrates or sugar - meaning no grain (bread), no corn, no rice, no beans- also no coffee/tea/chocolate for three weeks. Could only eat plenty of fresh vegetables (skip the potatoes), fresh fruit, poultry and fish (no red meat), olive (or other healthy) oil, herb teas and 8-10 glasses water/day. Not easy . This was a naturopathic doctor and she gave me a homeopathic remedy . That did the trick -for me.
Basically that removed some of the most common allergens.
But it all depends on what you're allergic to. Maybe your doctor can suggest a good diet. |

You're welcome!
I would definitely stick to brown rice! It's more nutritious and has more fiber, which will help clean your colon and keep your blood sugar levels more steady. As for how long, I think the recommendation on the web site was three weeks (same amount of time my doctor had me on my diet).
Hope this rash clears up for you soon. Good luck, roadtonowhere. Let us know how you are doing! |

I'm amazed by the results of the sea buckthorn oil. It treats my rashes right away. |
