Hi,

This might sound like a wierd question but recently ive acquired a bad looking tan from being outside. I already have light brown skin but now it is dark brown( just face and hands). I was wondering how long will this take to go away? few weeks? I will be on spring break for a week and probably going to be home the whole time. Will that help?

Thanks

I would find a way of feeding the skin back up, Vitamin C serum would be good for restoring the skin and reversing some of that sun damage.
In the meantime when out in the sun make sure you wear the highest factor of sunscreen you can find to prevent any further damage.

I think how long a tan takes to fade largely depends on your skin. I am very pale and very rarely tan, but if I get sunburnt and that turns into a tan, it takes absolute ages for it to fade.

I think the best thing you can do is to (a) exfoliate regularly (Dermalogica Microfoliant has skin brightening ingredients but I doubt it can fade a tan - it is a good product though), (b) incporporate a vitamin C serum to help heal your skin, (c) use a high SPF product and cover up.

I'd also buy a good loofah and scrub down in the shower! I find this an easy way to exoliate.

You don't want to over exfoliate any skin but I've never heard that a scrub would be bad for acne though. Hopefully someone here can confirm....
