Hi!I am new to this forum....

There are so many good reviews on Decleor products that I have decided to give it a try. Would greatly appreciate if anyone could give me any advice on which products would be suitable for my skin type....

I have normal to dry skin, very prone to breakouts.

Right now, my current 'to-try' list for Decleor are:
Decleor Foaming Cleanser
Essential Balm
Hydra Floral Cream
Prolagene Gel

Thanks!

Hi Skingal - I've only really had experience with the aromatherapy part of the Decleor range (the oils and balms) so I can't help you with your request other than to say that I think Essential Balm would be a very good choice for you.

welcome skingal!

I've got all the mentioned products and quite similar skin to yours...

I would skip the Foaming Cleanser, it doesn't foam very well and for some reason it gets into your mouth when you use it. It can be a bit too strong for dry skin as well...Reviews of the product can be found Arrow

If you want a Decleor cleanser I would start off with their cleansing milk instead, it's good for sensitive skin.

The essential balm is dreamy, smells lovely and works wonders, but you need to get an arromessence oil to go with it - the neroli oil is very good, as is the rose d'orient. The Rose d'orient balm is really good as well. I use all of them, but mostly use the Rose d'orient lately

I've used both the Hydra Floral and the Harmonie Essentielle creams, and without a doubt - the Harmonie is much better/nicer IMO. Hydra Floral is just a bit too strongly scented and does not feel as good or nurishing as the Harmonie.

This is what I recomend you get from EDS...

Good introduction to the products, and though 5ml of oil may sound a little - it goes a loooong way. VERY well priced

and any one of the two toners they have, they're both good...

hope that helps you some Very Happy

I think I would recommend the Decleor Cleansing Milk or Cleansing Cream rather than the Cleansing Foam, just because they’re supposed to be more suited to dry skin (i.e.: they have gentle, built-in moisturizing ingredients). That’s not to say that the Cleansing Foam (which is a complete misnomer because it doesn’t really foam, more like it gently frothes!!) is overly drying – at least it wasn’t for my very oily skin....

You didn’t put your location on your member profile so I can’t tell by looking where you are, but if you happen to be in the States and have a Sephora store located near you, I highly recommend stopping by and requesting samples of all the Decleor items on your list to test out first because their products really aren’t cheap! Confused Also, while I completely adore the Decleor products that I’ve tried, I know that a couple EDS members have reported adverse reactions to using Decleor products due to their basis in all-natural plant essences and essential oils, so it would be a shame if you invested a lot of money in the Decleor products and then discover that you can’t use them.

I also agree with Mabsy that the Decleor Essential Balm is a great choice for your skin type – and the scent of it is absolutely TO DIE FOR!!! The thing to remember about all of the “balms” from Decleor is that they are not supposed to be used every single night because they can be overly drying. I believe Decleor recommends that their balms should be used every night for two weeks, and then off for two weeks and you just repeat this cycle every month. I think you want to try to time it so you’re applying the balm during your “monthly cycle” so that its usage coincides with possible hormonal skin changes.

Anyway, I think you made a good choice in selecting Decleor to be your skincare line. Another good choice for skin that is prone to breakouts, which is also plant and essential oil-based, would be Yonka. I personally believe that every women should have a bottle of Yonka Juvenil and/or Yonka Emulsion Pure (or their homemade counterparts) in her medicine cabinet to deal with acne or occassional breakouts!

Good luck,
Carrie

Thanks for all the information and advises! I am really glad that I found this forum.... Very Happy

I am currently living in Sunnyvale and the nearest Sephora I can think of is in Valley Fair (Santa Clara). I will certainly heed Carekate's advise and pick up some samples from them. I have tried many skincare products in the past and have learned from my mistakes of not trying out samples.

Lena2202- A very big welcome!!!!

Hi! I have just checked regarding the usage of Decleor Essential Balms....

Dear Client

There is no such a thing as short time frame for using the Decleor Balms.

Especially for the Rose D'Orient Balms as the are designed to help sensitive
skin and should not be discontinued unless skin condition improves.

All of the balms can be used everyday morning and night for the whole year.

I double checked with the Decleor company and they also support no limit time
for their Balms to be used.

The best idea would be to use the Decleor Essential Balm in the morning and Rose
D'Orient Night Balm at night time.
Both of the products can be followed by a moisturizer if You have dry,
dehydrated skin.

All the best.

Thank you for your patronage.

Essential Day Spa

Hope this helps!
