I would like to try a different skincare line.I was told that Cellex-C was very good. But i don't know where to start with it.

I'm 43 yrs old.and now the signs of aging are starting to show.I have dry skin in the winter months. So i need a good moisture cream.I have now noticed the crows feet around the outer eye, dark circles, and lines around the upper lip area.
As well as the laugh lines are getting deeper.
So now it's very noticeable.

The saggy skin too.My skin just looks very drab looking.

Maybe a little firming up would help as well.
All in all i need a real tune-up so to speak. I'm not sure if i like this over 40 thing. If it's not just one thing that needs help it seems like everything starts to need help as well.

Where do i start? And with what products in the line?

Thanks
Missie

HI Missie

If you are keen to start on a Vit C based skin care routine, I would recommend Skinceuticals. I have tried both Cellex C and Skinceuticals and I found Skinceuticals to be kinder to first time users as it is more tolerable in terms of acidity. You may want to start on a lower strength like Skin Serum 10 and build from there. As you may have gathered by now from numerous other posts, it is important to hydrate your skin with the B5 gel.

If you are concerned about deepening lines, try SKinceuticals Intense Line Defense - I have found it effective in keeping lines from deepening and also good in evening out my complexion.

You may also want to get Valmont's Renewing Pack. Although I have only tried the sample pack, I must say it is really good for a pick me up.

It may take some time as well as trial and error to get into a skin care routine that's suited to you. In the meantime, rely on this board to get you information and of course, you get also get advice direct from EDS' aestheticians.

Good Luck!
Jenny:)

Also I'd suggest that, if you don't already regularly exfoliate, you should add an exfoliation step to your beauty routine. It will not only make your skin feel smoother and less dull, but will also increase the effectiveness of the products you apply on your skin.

Two products I alternate between are the Peter Thomas Roth Buffing Beads and Dermalogica Microfoliant. The Buffing Beads product is actually a very gentle scrub and has the added bonus of feeling like you're massaging your face. The Microfoliant is a powder that you massage onto a wet face. This one doesn't feel as nice as the Buffing Beads but it, on the other hand, has ingredients that brighten up the skin tone. It may be a bit of a personal preference so I suggest that if you're in the market for an exfoliant you should get samples of (at least) those two products.

HTH.

Ladies thankyou for your advice.I was able to get a sample of the cellex-c linesmoother and a eye gel to firm the skin under the eyes.I have to say i have not had a product irritate as much as those two did.
I did not like the tingle it gave after applying it.And after i put the firming gel on under my eyes, i ended up with irritation and alot of redness as well.It also dried out the skin as well.Even after i used a moisturizer as well.So needless to say i think these products were just to strong for my skin to tolerate.

So i'm going to take your advice and try the ones that you have suggested.

Hi there - irritation is no good, but I will say that I love the Vitamin-C tingle - it makes me feel like it is actually doing something! Also, it felt uncomfortable the first few times I used similar products, but now it doesn't cause any irritation at all. Just FYI
