Ringworm: How to cure it? Pls

Ringworm,

i know this is disgusting,:( can anyone tell me how it will be cure fast and effective without any hurdles, i really dont know when did it happen noticed it yesterday in the saloon while hair cut.

im having a bold patch next to my ear and it very ugly.

pls pls tell me hure to go about it :?:

Try a Tea Tree Oil based product or just Tea Tree Oil on it. Or, an over the counter antifungal ointment. HTH

I too was thinking of Tea Tree Oil, also Neem Oil is an effective anti fungal treatment if you can get past the smell.

I hope your infection isn't too painful/itchy.

Tea tree oil is always a good go to, as is Apple Cider Vinegar (raw, unpasturized like Braggs).

You almost might want to look around the forums at Curezone.

First you may want to make sure it is ringworm. It is my understanding that this is a fungus and can be contagious. It is usually treated with an anti-fungal agent. If you know in fact that it is ringworm, how about trying an OTC product that treats jock itch..? This is a fungus as well. Try researching "Ringworm or "Tinea" on:

Honestly I would go to the derm for a proper diagnosis. Good luck and sorry to hear you got this.

I used to get ringworm a lot as a kid (which I think was because I grew up riding horses), and I always used antifungal cream to get rid of it.

That being said, I'd try tea tree oil first if you've got it on hand, as these lovely ladies have suggested, as it's a lot more natural. Haven't tried it myself, but if that doesn't work, you could fall back on the antifungal cream.

Also try not to feed the fungal infection from the inside, this would include ommiting any 'fungal' foods from your diet until the ringworm clears:

*Cheese
*Bread
*Alcohol
*Basically anything with yeast
*any sugary foods as they feed the problem, so no sweets and chocolate.
*Mushrooms

I agree with Mabsy and marmur1, get OTC antifungal. If it persists, go to derm to get stronger med.

Lotrimin AF apply to lesion 2-3 times/day and continue tx until lesion has been gone for 2 weeks. Avoid swimming pools and hot tubs until treatment is completed. If you have pets, you may want to take them to the vet to make sure they aren't the carriers.

If the lesion worsens at anytime call a doctor. A General Practioner is usually sufficent since this is such a common problem. DO NOT USE HYDROCORTISONE CREAM!!!!!!!!!! It will cause the lesion to spread.

as some people suggested I would use antifungal cream...clotrimazol or lotrimin..I also have ringworm...and have small spots once in a while..it goes away with the above creams in few days

Evelin-if you have problems with it coming back make sure you continue to use it for 2 weeks after the lesion is gone. You may not see it, but it is still there.

Thanks very much for your attention,

i been to Dr. for the same, he gave me "Beprosalic" Ointment . Aqueous Cream to apply at night time & Piriton Tablets (to reduce itiching)to have once at night after meal. i been doing for three day & the fungus is at my back of my scalp i want to cure it fast iss their any thing to grow hairs back on the same faster, just so you know it is not at all itiching

Broken off hairs are classic of tinea of the scalp. To grow them back quickly try olive oil with a few drops of rosemary essence. Our plastic surgeons/dermatologists mix it for patients and sell it at an outrageous sum-30cc for something like $50 US dollars .

Tea tree oil for sure helps. But believe it or not, my friend was told to use "bleach". I am sure if you have them in sensitive spots I would not use it. But she had them on her shoulders and she used a cotton swab and dipped it in good ol laundry bleach. The next day the redness was gone and the day after, you would have never known she had them.
