I always find Lavender Essential Oil good for treating any kind of insect bites, try mixing some with a dollop of aloe vera gel.
Another essential oil is Lemon, my grandmother used to mix Lemon essential oil with some honey to prevent any infection. |

baking soda and water paste works well to take the itch out..... just make a paste and pat it on. Leave it and let it dry...then wipe it off before you put clothes on |

Hi BCgirl,
It sounds like hives to me ... which is an allergic reaction.
Have you changed your laundry detergent or fabric softener lately?
If your laundry detergent is Tide ... especially a new type ... that could well be the culprit. Tide is notorious for causing reactions.
If you ate something last night shortly before going to bed, particularly if you don't generally eat that particular item ... that too could be the culprit.
I'd take some Vitamin C ... which is a natural antihistamine ... or take an authentic antihistamine if you have any in the house. The Vitamin C works quickly, but it only lasts about 3 to 4 hours ... whereas you can generally purchase bone fide antihistamines that last for 12 hours or 24 hours.
The itch is caused from histamines ... so taking an antihistamine is the easiest way to control the irritation.
Good luck
Mary |

thanks Mary... i've never had hives before and i dont think im allergic to anything. It is very weird how i would wake up with these little bumps on my back, and i have one on my leg. Very strange. My bf who sleeps on the same bed didnt wake up with any itchy bumps. I havent changed my laundry detergent or anything like that lately. |

I agree with Mary on the hives issue. This also happened to me, but it was with a new body lotion I had purchased (from the Body Shop). I had never had hives before, so I freaked out and went to the Dr. He asked me if I had eaten or used anything new, and of course the lotion was it. They went away when I stopped using it, and I actually have not had them since. |

an over the counter hydrocoine..sry spelling..cream will really help too. It def does sound like an allergic reaction, if it doesnt go away fast with creams then def see a doctor. |

it could be an allergic reaction, try taking a benedryl (best for hives)
alternate things, have you or your SO stayed anywhere like a hostel or hotel lately?
have you spent any time with someone who's traveling?
i ask because three years i had a similar thing happen: about two weeks after i moved into my dorm room (which had been used as a "hostel" type room over the summer) i woke up with bites all over, and the next night too. that day i did a THOROUGH clean of the room, moved everything around, etc. i found a young bedbug. after some research i finally figured that whoever had been in the room before me had left an egg or a baby one. i became the first meal, but i caught it before it laid any eggs (because i never had another problem)
anyway, i TRULY hope that is not the case for you, and unless you have had contact with any of the situations above, it's VERY unlikely. |

I'm not trying to scare you but if they are tiny and itchy, they might be spider bites. I got some on my forearm about 5 months ago. Very small, red, itchy. And my derm told me they were spider bites. |

bed bugs... what do they look like? i didnt think they could be visible with the naked eye. I havent stayed in a hotel or hostel recently, so i dont know what they could be since my bf sleeps in the same bed and he hasnt got any reaction.
