Hi
This is my first time posting--just found this forum a month ago. Have ordered Alpha Derma
prep, ADCE and Okusil--using for about 2 wks. I have a question--I called Janson-Beckett about using moisturizer over the product and they said there is no need to. Well I agree to a point--but I see others are using other products and in some cases several other products with the AD line. I am not understanding what I'm supposed to do. The AD says to use 2x per day, been using the sample of Skincueticals C 15 during the day after the prep (am going to try the DIY after this is gone). I like the line--no problems and have been seeing benefits after the short time of use but I feel like I should be using a AHA product or something else at nite. How do others incorporate other products with their Alpha Derma. New to this so please bear with me. HOPE I DID THIS RIGHT!! |

Hi there KTWI and welcome to the site. There are a slew of conversations here regarding the use of Alpha Derma and Janson Beckett products in general. Your best bet is to just use the search engine on the page and browse to your hearts content.
As for their recommendation that you don't need a moisturizer over the ADCE....
This is a nice line, to be sure. But, to be honest, they're just a little bit nuts...laughing. OK, ok, ok.... Maybe that's harsh. Bottom line: the folks there are "passionate" (i.e. they're zealots) about their products. They don't leave room for incorporating other lines and will get all bent out of shape with you if you insist...
If you do a search, and read thru the posts, you'll find all the info you need on how to incorporate your other products, the order of application, etc.
Keep an eye on your eye area with that Okusil. When I used it, I was pleased for a little while UNTIL I suddenly developed incredibly crepey skin that I didn't have before. Eeeeekkkk. I'm not the only one who indicated that problem, either. Took me a little while after discontinuing use of the Okusil to get the skin around my eyes back to normal. I'm not telling you not to use it - we all react to different products in a unique way. But do keep an eye on it |

Thanks for the reply, Katee
What are you using instead of the okusil now? |

I had to use a moisturizer after the Alpha Derma as it was very drying for me.
I used Elizabeth Arden 24 hour Perpetual Moisture Lotion.
No longer use the Alpha Derma (or any Janson Beckett product), but continue to use the Elizabeth Arden Perpetual Moisture.

I've been using the facial prep, ADCE, DermaExcel 7 and the Okusil since Jan. I would repurchase everything except the DermaExcel. I don't see that its better than Botox....and frankly, I like Botox!
I also don't use a moisturizer with the ADCE. I use some Vit C every night, but have never felt that my face needed anything additional. |

I had samples of the face wash, prep, ADCE and Okusil. Didn't think much of the face wash, reacted to the sunscreen in the ADCE so gave that and the prep to DH but I'm still using the Okusil. So far so good. I don't know whether I'll repurchase but I use so little of it each time that my bottle will probably last me a year. |

I think it depends on your skin type...whether you use a moisterizer. I strongly recommend that you use something with sunscreen on your face and neck, over the AlphaDerma CE.
I've used ADCE for nine months. I loved the mineral prep, but found that my moisturizer would ball up, so now I apply my vitamin C serum, AlphaDerma, then a moisturizer with SPF.
Sometimes it takes some experimenting before you find a routine that you're happy with...and your skin is happy with! And if you're like me, and many others on this site, you'll always continue to search for and try other products....in hopes of finding a combination that's even better! |
