I have read about how applying topical collagen is pointless because your skin cannot absorb it due to its molecular structure (or something like that). Are there different variations that can be absorbed by your skin? I thought the only way you can really impact collagen is to use other ingredients that help rebuild it etc.
Just wondering what I should think when I see products that list "collagen" or "soluble collagen" as an ingredient.
so confused... |

Hi Amnis
Collagen information can be quite confusing, although the consensus seems to be about the same on most of the sites that I have visited looking for some real facts on the subject. Try http://users.erols.com/gtodorov/skincare/collag.htm You may find some of the answers there. Hope this helps! |

I believe that although collagen and elastin molecules cannot be incorporated into our own collagen and elastin, they do serve in cosmetics primarily as a moisturizing element. |
