I have acne prone skin and was just wondering if anyone knew of a good moisturizer that won't cause my face to be shiny and is oil free to reduce the chance of breakouts?

What type of skin do you have? Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion is good and has salicylic acid in it to help control acne.

My skin is combination but if I put anything remotely greasy or oily I get really shiny in my T zone. Thanks for the help!

The oil control lotion would be good, but may not be moisturising enough on the drier areas of your combo skin (depends on what they're like). I could use the oil control lotion on my normal skin in summer but probably not in winter. It is specifically geared towards acen-prone skin and also helps control shine throughout the day. See if you can get a sample of it from a salon around you - Dermalogica are pretty good with samples.

biotherm's acnopur range is good for acne prone skin. Contains an anti bacterial ingredient and is oil free as well.

I use Laura mercier oil free moisturizer. It is pretty good and has SPF in it which is very important

Have you thought of replacing the Oil Free Moisturiser with Jojoba Oil.....I know, I know it is an Oil but really it works for us oilies and I have never had any breakouts from this.
As long as I use a toner first, then the Jojoba my skin regulates itself througfhout the day, with oil free moisturisers I always used to get oily breakouts later in the day, now I never have that problem and no shine either.
And for acne, mix a few drops of Tea Trea Oil into the Jojoba, it then acts as an effective treatment and a moisturiser without being too harsh.

Sounds good, but does Jojoba go well with Makeup, like fundation, powder? Also, do you use pure Jojoba? Thanks.

I'd like to suggest Decleor Aroma Purete Matte Finish Skin Fluid and my personal favourites, Dermalogica Sheer Moisture for the summer and Skin Smoothing Cream during colder months. Dancing

Yes I use pure Jojoba Oil, I just need to wait a few minutes for it so sink in and then if I am wearing powder I will just dust over the top.

I also have acne prone skin and am currently use benzol peroxide twice per day as instructed on acne.org (a great site). Anyway, you have to use a moisturizer to regulate the skin....especially when using BP. I purchased Juice Organics Daily Nourishing Moisturizer from CVS....it is packed with all organic juice derivitives (hydroxy acids) which will help with the acne.

Thus far, I really enjoy this product. It is light and absorbs quickly.

If you would like something gentle but medicated, Paula's Choice beta hydroxy acid lotion is a good moisturizer and is good for acne prone skin. It's not waxy like some moisturizers, even ones that are supposed to be non-comedogenic. Neutrogena makes a bha moisturizer that's supposed to be good as well. I also like the pure oil method but find the natural oils irritate/clog my pores. I actually use mineral oil much like rosebud uses jojoba (just a wee, wee bit), I wish I could use pure jojoba because it's natural but my skin hates it these days.

My favorite is md skincare Auto-Balancing Moisture with Sunscreen SPF10. It is light and doesn't clog poors. It is not greasy at all and does not facilitate breakouts.
