Hi all,

Sorry, need to ask about a few more things for my bf because I'm not that familiar with what type of products is suitable for his skin type...

what is good for treating acne for dry skin? i tried searching for acne treatments but it seems like the products that everyone talks about is for oily skin...

also, what products besides ACV toner is good for minimizing the scars and for smoothing the bumps caused by acne scars?

i'm sort of obsessed with developing a routine for him right now.. Laughing

The first thing I'd suggest is a moisturiser with aha. Almost every drugstore brand has at least one. The aha's will help to fade the scars and smoothe out the bumps over time. Actually I quite like Lac-Hydrin with 12% lactic acid but it might be too strong for him to start with. He'll definitely need to use a sunscreen to protect his skin, especially if he's using something with aha's. (see the other post for sunscreen suggestions Smile ) Hope this helps a bit.

also, using something wth salicylic acid will help, as it removes oil from the pores.

I'm sorry, you're right, the Lac-Hydrin does leave a rather tacky feel. I use it as a 5 min mask that gets rinsed off so I forgot it wouldn't work as a leave-on moisturiser. Embarassed If your bf is willing, he could try it at night. Otherwise take a look around the drugstore aisles, there are so many choices.

My boyfriend uses a Clean and Clear cleanser that has tricolsan to treat acne, and moisturizer and scrub from the men's Nivea line. He has dry skin and these products seem to work well for him (though he doesn't moisturize as much as he needs to, but he is guy...)

My dh absolutely loves Clinique. He uses the face wash, shave cream and moisturizing gel (the light one)and his skin has definitely improved, a lot less razor burn and ingrown hairs. I've never liked this line for me, but I'm glad it works for him! It's usually pretty easy to get samples in the department stores too before purchasing.
