Recently, I noticed that the hair on the top of my head and around my forehead has gone considerably thinner. Even my hairdresser commented that whilst my hair is thick at the back of my head, the hair on the top is much less
On desperate impulse, I bought this bottle of "PROCYAN" advanced hair formula that promises thicker hair. It wasn't cheap - USD 80.00
Well, I am "pleased" to announce that it had an extremely pungent medicated smell. My young daughter came into my room and exclaimed "What's with the smell, Mom?"
I cannot imagine what Hubby will say later...Needless to say, I am having second thoughts of applying this every single night for the next 6 weeks..
If anyone has some good hair growth lotion to recommend that does NOT smell..., please, let me know....
TIA

I've been using Nioxin shampoo, conditioner and concentrate for the last 2 years. It definitely has made a difference in the amount of hair that shows up in the shower drain, and the hair at the back of my head *feels* fuller. The shampoo and conditioner are minty while the concentrate has a mild herbal smell that disappears quickly. Even DH who has allergies has tried it with no complaints. HTH |

I think the only thing that gives instant gratification are hair extensions (the ones that just clip on.) A couple of those, and your're all set! |

Thanks, Gina! Did you have an issue with thinning hair at the forehead hairline? Would Triaxon be a remedy for my receding hairline? I'm afraid to go off the Diane 35 because my hair was thinning so badly before I went on it. |

i also use nioxin shampoo to help with my thinning hair. I think it works pretty well, as my hari does not get any thinner. |

I'd recommend Nioxin as well. I see a difference in terms of hair loss when I use it. |

Thanks everyone for the tips. I will check out Nioxin and Triaxon. THe hair extension suggestion is a good one, but I think I will try other methods first. Mabsy, did you just use the shampoo or the conditioner and serum as well?
TIA

Hi, I had lots of hair loss after my last child, esp. on top . The triaxon worked great, they do have a 6 month money back guarantee I believe. My hair has improved greatly, I am still using it now as a preventative. I am very pleased with this product. |

Jenny,
Have you had your thyroid levels checked? I went through a similiar experience a few years back. I went to my derm and he checked my thyroid (came back fine). He was no help after that and said that it ws probably due to stress. Turns out he was right as I developed cystic acne as well I did try Nioxon and I "think" it helped. What worked even better for me was getting rid of the stress--which I did. My hair eventually went back to normal. Also hormonal imbalances can cause hair loss. Check outwww.dermadoctor.com for great articles and products that help with hair loss. |

I just saw a news report that basically concluded that rubbing Saw Palmetto on your scalp is very effective in promoting hair growth. (It was about a new prescription product aimed at balding men-- and the report concluded the same results could be achieved using rogaine + saw palmetto) Hope this helps! |

recommending nioxin, as suggested by all the posts earlier. this really works well in controlling the oil production as well as helps to curb hair loss. |

Jenny,
Read up on this. They have products that have been PROVEN to help with hair loss. I mean a lot of info and actual studies behind which is more important than just claims. Testimonials as well.
Their idea is to help the SKIN around the follicle to help the follicle flourish.
Makes so much sense.
