Hi guys!

Just dropped by LRP's website and I noticed they have had a packaging update for their Anthelios range, and the products now come in only Fluide Extreme(FE), Melt-in cream textures? AND FINALLY, spf 20! While I agree that it is best to have an SPF of at least 30 for all-day protection, but it does feel a little ridiculous to head out with SPF 40-60 at, like, 4pm. Heh! Do check out the site and tell us what you think!

I can't post URL's so sorry abt tt! you could always google it i guess.

Hi howeyuan - Have you tried any of the new formulae yet? I'm hoping they're not as oily as FE SPF50+.

BTW, Bad Bird told me cornflour is the same as cornstarch!

Hey April!

Nope I've yet to try the new formulas... and looking through the ingredients lists of the FE's, it looks pretty much the same except that the alcohol content for the SPF 20 version is lower. The lait looks like it could be an option but I don't know if this is going to be very shiny/oily? Yep I got a bag of cornflour and tried it! It worked great to matte down my forehead and cheeks but the shine on my nose came through after 1 hour! Guess there's nothing I can do about that. Heh.

Well howeyuan, I use LRP FE SPF50+ in order to get the best protection I can, but it's not practical for me when I wear makeup -- then I use Avene, and they're both oily. But I'm still thinking of trying the LRP Dermo Pediatric for use in very humid weather. While not *quite* as protective as FE, it still has a PPD value equal to the best Avene. You may want to try it if absolute optimal protection isn't an issue for you.

Hey again april, that reply was pretty quick! Anyway, I did enquire about the dermo pediatrics spray after you pm-ed me the last time round and as it turns out, it is readily available over here! What I'm most concerned about is the alcohol content of the Anthelios products - I already experience some redness in my cheeks, possibly from BHA(though there is really nothing else that's done as good a job at keeping acne at bay) so at times I worry that the alcohol might be contributing to the problem. I have noticed a difference ever since I started on the FE 40 though - my skin's gotten slightly fairer and more even-toned. I think I'll try out the DP spray after I'm finished with the FE. BTW do you have MSN? it'd be much more convenient to talk there than to rapid-fire back and forth on this board, heh.

Hi howeyuan - You may want to try Avene Spray SPF50+. The PPD (18?) is the same as the LRP Dermo Pediatric sunscreen, I think. This isn't as high as FE, but still better than most. I mention it because the Avene sunscreen seems calming on my skin, i.e., there's no mild *sting* like FE causes on a freshly exfoliated face.

No MSN, sorry!
