OK, so I ALWAYS brush my teeth twice a day, but I've always hated doing it because the over-powering taste of regular toothpastes just doesn't agree with me. Then I discovered this all natural toothpaste imported from Japan called Breath Palette. It comes in all kinds of fun flavors like caramel, green tea, fuji apple, espresso, etc, and they taste so good that all of the sudden I found myself looking forward to brushing my teeth! But, the only drawback is that BP toothpaste does not contain flouride. Do you guys think it's ok?

There are two schools of thought concerning flouride. Some people think it's necessary to prevent cavities and others think it's just an industrial waste product. I switched off of flouride and as a result I've had less cavities...I'm not saying it's the cause but it certainly hasn't gotten worse!

More than likely you have it in your water supply. To also have it in your toothpaste is over kill.

I'd stick with the toothpaste you like so that you will get your teeth brushed! Razz

"Fluoride Facts

* Fluoride is more toxic than lead and is used as a pesticide for mice, rats, and other small pets.
* The fluoride used in tap water is not closely monitored and often contains high levels of carcinogens like arsenic.
* The fluoride we ingest from the water supply and from a number of other sources is associated with a number of negative health effects such as cancer, weakened bones and osteoporosis."

Also it is in food, spring water, tea esp. If that green tea flavor is real green tea then it does have fluoride, naturally occurring fluoride. The thing with fluoride is that very little is best, and too much is toxic. It is not an essential mineral and it is a heavy metal it does build up in the body and doesn't leave. Also too much causes fluorosis and bone deterioration, plus really ugly permanently stained and molted teeth. Too much actually can cause cavities and weak teeth. Natural sources are best, like calcium fluoride in sea vegetables etc. Even then you have to make sure you don't get too much of it.
