I am wondering if you ladies apply anything around the eye before eye sunblock? Since eye sunblock is not penetrating and does not have any moisturising effect, I assume we should apply something first? If yes, what do you use?

I put my regular eye cream/gel before the sunblock. The sunblock does help since eyes are the most sensitive area under the sun. I am using the Lancome sunblock SPF 40 for eyes. It also has a tinted colour that also helps to cover the dark circle.

I am using Avon eye cream with SPF12. If I put on eye cream before that, I am afraid that it would be too much for the eyes.

Really?? Lancome has eye cream with sunblock??? I cannot get it here (Hong Kong), where did you get it? Do you think SPF40 for the eyes will be too much / heavy??

After using a Hydra B gel and vitamin c treatment (both cellex c but soon to be skinceuticals)), I have used Dermalogica's total eye care (SPF 15). It actually kept my eye area very well hydrated throughout the day.

Hi Angela,

I've also come across a sunblock that's formulated for the eyes-- Institut Esthederm Eye Contour Sun Treatment which has 30 SPF (another eye cream I picked up while I was in France)... It's a sunbock formulated for the eye area ideal for the beach or for physical outdoor activity as it's waterproof (it indicates that it is to be reapplied every 2 hours). I use this one when I go swimming as it's far too greasy for normal daywear.

In the mornings, I use an eyecream that has a high SPF-- Murad Essential-C Eye Cream SPF30 which is excellent. It's non-greasy and moisturising enough for the eye area, plus you're assured that the most delicate area on your face is protected against the ravages of the sun (provided that you're also shielding your eyes with sunglasses!). If you are concerned about having to moisturise under your sunblock for eyes, then this might be a 'lighter' alternative as you're treating two things in one product-- moisturise and protect!
