Ordered that with my wonderful EDS voucher and just got it in. Love it, will never go back to a washcloth again! Great for using along with my Cetaphil. Although you don't have to use soap, it just seems to help with getting off the sunscreen and cetaphil alone just never feels clean enough. Seems like it would also make a great present. |

I have this and while I don't use it on a regular basis at home - it comes with me on most trips because it's super convenient and dries quickly as well. It can be used without cleanser but I tend to use it with cleanser to give it a boost. I've had it for a few years and it's still holding up just fine. |

Oops, was checking this product out & hit one of the "reviews". Was curious if folks are still liking this product or if there are any other type of "waterless" face cleansers on the market, that are a must have or even decent? |

I LOVE mine! I will never go back to cleansers again, it really does remove everything with zero irritation. I give it a 10/10! |

My DS has been using one of these with very good results. Not every night, but a couple of times per week to exfoliate some of the dry skin he gets due to his prescription acne medicine. We like that it's gentle and effective, and doesn't throw any chemicals or other ingredients into the mix that might throw off the positive results he's getting from his acne meds otherwise. |

I love my mitt. I have had mine for a couple of years. Like Mabsy I have been known to use mine with cleanser. It depends on my mood. |

Is this mitt suitable for sensitive skin? Is it gentle enough to be used around the eyes to remove eye makeup? |

IMO, it would be fine for sensitive skin since you are just using water and the mitt to take makeup off -- not adding anything to mix unless you choose to add your own cleanser. Since they are supposed to be handwashed after every use and rinsed out, I could see a problem happening if all of the makeup, etc. isn't rinsed off the mitt after each use, leaving debris and/or soap even, if not rinsed well. |

Still using and loving mine. I use it with Obagi Gentle wash. It works like a charm for sensitive skin. |

I use mine to remove my eye makeup, the key is to get your lashes wet for at least 30-45 seconds then gently remove the makeup. It should glide right off. |

I had never heard of this mitt before last week & was surprised to find it at one of my favorite Beauty stores. There was Jane Iredale & "the mitt" right at the front entrance. Goodness, it must be a sign. |

This product does sound very good, but I don't seem to get how it works. How is it supposed to remove dirt, oil, or makeup from your face if you don't use any cleanser with it? Do you have to rub hard? Does it dry out your skin? |

It's magic, I don't know how but it does work.
You don't have to rub hard. I have quite sensitive skin & this is a nice gentle cloth. |

I confess I do use a tiny bit of cleanser with it because I do like that extra clean feeling, but you don't have to. You don't have to rub very hard either. |

It does sound almost too good to be true. I think it'll be great for traveling, saving me from having to carry my makeup remover and face cleanser |

I've been debating trying this for a while, since I have the hardest time with cleansers. What's stopped me from ordering one so far is the thought of the mitt being hard to clean and keep clean. What do you hand wash it with? Is it totally bad to throw it in with your laundry? |

I use the mitt when I am too tired to do my full routine, and I am not about to handwash the mitt when I am that tired (or ever actually; I think it defeats the purpose of saving time to have to clean the cleaner). So, I do wash mine in the washing machine with my light-colored permanent press and knit stuff (not with regular towels and wash cloths and linens because that seems too harsh). I turn it inside out when washing, and I don't put it in the dryer, except when I forget. My mitt seems to be holding up fine, but I haven't had it for long, so I can't say that it will keep holding up.
I am impressed with how clean the mitt leaves my skin. Because I use it when I am really tired, I do not follow up with any other stuff afterward. I just wash with the mitt and fall into bed. My face always looks great the next morning (so much that it impresses me), despite skipping moisturizer. I do worry that it is a little hard on my eyelashes, so I'm careful to be gentle when using it to get off mascara.

Jeannine , thank you for posting the dets about how you machine wash yours. That gives me hope to use mine occasionally. Do you machine wash after one use? Or do you just rinse with water each night after use and toss it in the laundry after several uses? |

I throw mine in with the whites and a bit of biz about once a week, never into the dryer. If I forget to throw it in the wash, I just rub it with some baby shampoo and it stays very clean. |

I machine wash it after each use. Mind you, I only use the mitt about once a week if that (when I am too tired to do anything else, which includes rinsing it--believe me, just wetting it sufficiently and wiping my face is hard enough when I am that tired).

Has anyone tried anything similar from other brands? I know aveda has a shammy cloth (but probably doesn't remove makeup), but it's supposed to dry very hard and hence keep any bacterial growth away. |

I have a shammy cloth from The Body Shop that I love. Also works good as a compress / warm towel treatment for the face & eyes. The Body Shop's shammy sounds like the same thing Aveda offers. It also dries hard. They crack after a while because of this...
The Jane Iredale mitt sounds like it is similar to microdermabrasion cloths sold on Ebay. I have a set that includes a small sponge - that's what I use most on my face. I prefer the sponge to the washclothe type microdermabrasion cloth. |

The magic mitt is weird in that it feels and works just like a regular washcloth both when it's wet and dry. It never feels hard or stiff, and it doesn't feel anything like dermabrasion. It's very gentle. It feels like any regular washcloth.
