I received a sample of Decleor's Essential Balm with a recent EDS purchase and I've used it for three nights, once after an aspirin mask. Other than a blackhead on my cheek, which might be the result of my new MAC foundation (I hope not - because I love it), I am very pleased with the effect on my skin. I had a nice healthy glow this morning even after a bad sleep, my skin tone was very even, and my pores seemed tighter.
For those of you who have used the Essential Balm regularly, do you see any downsides and how often should I use it? I'm tempted to use it as a replacement to my nightime moisturizer. While I don't think I really need a nightime moisturizer in light of my spot treating products (Relax-a-line and Decleor Vitaroma Eye and Lip cream), I do like the comforting feel of it before bed - like it's "sealing" my products in place. I'm thinking of substituting Essential Balm but want to be aware of the possible side effects, e.g. blackheads and milia.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. - Generally speaking, I'm combo skin but my T-zone has been under control for a while and my cheeks would be described as "normal." |

From reading the MUA reviews, it seems quite a few people got break outs and blocked pores after a few weeks' continuous use.
I think the instructions for the actual Essential balm is to use a maximum of 2 weeks of the month, then to replace with another balm that suits your skin type.
I have the E balm on its way I would use it as a pick me up one or two weeks of the month.. I think skin tires of too much nourishment (like the magical Dr H Rejuv mask on trouble skin overnight.. works wonders the first couple of times but continuous use seems to plateau its effects) |

I don't use this continually. I have heard conflicting report on whethere you can or not. I think more commonly people say that you shouldn't use it for more than two weeks in a row but I never really got to the bottom of this mystery... |

Thanks folks. Since the results of the Balm are immediate, I'm going to use this product as a once-in-a-while booster, when my complexion is feeling dull, perhaps in conjunction with the aspirin mask. I use the ylang ylang balm on a similarly periodic basis, when I feel the oilies taking over.
Thanks again. |
