Need a cleanser that is really gentle!

I have been using Mario Badescu's Enzyme Cleansing Gel and I really like the way it doesn't lather and removes all of my makeup BUT... it really stings my eyes and the scent of it bothers me too. Is there anything out there that would be comparable? It is similar in consistency to Cetaphil, but actually removes makeup. I just need something that won't dry out my skin.

This cleanser is not the same consistency as Cetaphil but it does melt the makeup off my face. It's called Aloette Essential Cleansing Oil. It's very gentle (even for eye makeup removal).

I use and love Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser. Another fave is Olay Sensitive Skin Foaming Face Wash.

I really like Dermalogica's Ultracalming Cleanser for Face and Eyes... doesn't sting AT ALL and has no scent.

I'm waiting for PSF Green Tea Cleanser, and am expecting it to be even better:)

I can guarantee that Juvena Fresh Cleansing Gel will remove all dirt, not sting your eyes, leaves your skin soft and is great on skin that breaks out. At the moment I have been tempted by Tiger-Tim to try a Cellcosmet cleanser (and I probably will) as it sounds just as nice as the Juvena one.

I have been using Juice Organics (CVS..same makers of Juice Beauty) Nourshing cleanser and I really like it. It does not lather...it removes ALL makeup (and I wear a lot of eyemakeup)...it rinses clean and does not dry out my skin. I bought the trial a while ago and I just went in and bought the full size last night. I'm impressed.

Is this a no rinse cleanser? One of the cleansers that I use is the Bioderma Crealine H20 cleanser which is a no rinse cleanser. This is a great cleanser for sensitive skin and it does a good job of removing makeup. It does take a little getting used to since you apply it to a cotton and wipe your skin with it like a toner.

My all-time fave gentle cleanser is Beauty Without Cruelty's Herbal Cleansing Cream. It has a very thick texture--- like hair conditioner--- but it miraculously removes make up and oil and leaves your skin soft. Another good one is PSF's Green Tea cleanser. I've only tried the trial-size version of this, but it's really nice---very creamy and gentle.

I used to love this cleanser for my baby, it was so gentle. So many baby cleanser contain detergents and I've always thought babies so don't need to cleansed of oils or dirt, they really just need a rinse and some moisturizer if they live in a dry climate like I do here, the winter is really dry and froze solid. This cleanser did both for us. I especially liked it after the pool. I would rinse my son then apply the creamy cleanser and wipe it off to take the chlorine off his skin. But, they've taken it off the market here in Canada! I'm always whining about the things we can't get here and this is no exception. I'm off to email Aveeno, bring back the creamy cleanser cause I want to use it on my face!!!!! /rant Wink

Have to agree-- been nothing else like OCM to me. I have sensitive, dry skin and absolutely love the results and the feel of my skin afterwards

I think it is still available in the US, the best way is to check the US Aveeno website. It is still at www.aveeno.com but not at www.aveeno.ca.

I just started using Dr Hauschka cleansing cream, and I think it's great so far! I find it gentle and refreshing at the same time. but...it does contain some alcohol, and I know others have reported that it stung their skin, so might be worth trying a little sample first. I'd recommend it from my experience though Very Happy

For second choice, much cheaper, the new CeraVe cleanser (found at drugstores) is also very mild

I have to agree on the cleansing oil method, nothing is gentler or more effective for makeup removal. Natural oils make me break out, olive, almond and jojoba did this but mineral oil doesn't.

Lithia, I am so glad to hear that. I have developed a sensitivity to the PSF green tea cleanser since starting my retin-a and clarisonic routine. Before this, it was my HG cleanser (bummer). I would recommend it to anyone and haven't heard about any irritations until me. I think the seaweed extract may be irritating.... I just ordered the Yonka Gel and am really looking forward to its arrival! Smile
