I got my Obagi NuDerm package yesturday and used it last night and this morning. I also took some close up pictures (not too pretty! ) and would love to keep a journal of how things progress. I'm happy to share if anyone is interested!! I'll add to this weekly on how things are going, and hopefully post some nice before/after pictures!
For now, I can say it will probably take me awhile to get used to it. The whole kit takes some time to apply, and I haven't always been good at having a skin routine. The product also seems a bit greasy at first, but it's now been an hour since I have applied it and the skin feels soft. No redness yet. I will also pick up the renova today and start it tonight.IN addition to the NuDerm system I also picked their Vit C eye serum, though I don't remember what it's for!
My hope is that Obagi helps with my uneven skin tone and redness as well as make my skin appear smoother. I also have some melasma and acne. I'd love to be able to go out comfortably without makeup on--so we'll see what happens!!!
The only other suggestion I've had from the derm and others is to do photofacials or even the new fractel (sp?) laser for my skin, but they range from $500-$1000 a treatment with 3-5 treatments needed. So lets hope this works! |

I am very interested in all your updates and photos - please let us know how this works for you!
I've been using at home peels, but have heard good things about the Obagi products too.
Thanks, Barefoot |

DiverChick, I'm on week 8 of Obagi and the results thus far have been nothing short of amazing. I had a LOT of sun damage. My spots are much lighter and my skin has a smooth translucent quality.
It hasn't been easy (took a few weeks for my skin to get used to the Retin A - flaming red face - and I had things like a massive peeling attack in the middle of a big meeting)but it's well worth it.
The Vit C eye serum should be used in the am under eye cream. It will help brighten this area. Just be conservative with the tretinoin. A pea size amount mixed with the blender really means a pea size. Hope it works well for you! |

Margot, I don't have the tretinoin, just a prescrip for renova (same as retina A I think.
I wonder why I didn't get that? |

Renova is tretinoin in a moisturizing base. Retin-a is also tretinoin. |

I've just started flaking....yippee!!! Stung this morning but used BE makeup and not noticable. I know it's going to get worse from what I've read. I'm adding the Clear and Vitamin C tonight...the Spa I went to was on back order. Hope to see the sunspots and uneven skin tone go!!! I'm going to try and do some pics but not sure my digital camera is good enough. |

I LOVE Obagi. It really changed my appearance. I was using thicker and thicker m/u b/c my sun spots were so dark but now I can get away with just powder. Just powder! I haven't had that since I was 18 years old!!!
It is hard sometimes and even embarassing witht he flaking I had but the new skin underneath is beautiful, just focus on that. Out with the Old and in with the NEW! |
