I was told in my review of the suave conditioner that drugstore brands have a different ph than salon brands... does anyone know what the PH of a hair conditioner is supposed to be? After reading this I was curious and went and tested my suave contioner along with my Schwarzkopf conditioner. Granted I don't have the most accurate scientific way of testing (just the strips). They both measure about the same at 3.3 . I'm curious what is a conditioner supposed to be at and what is a face wash supposed to be at? Or does it vary? |

Not all drugstore brands are bad and not all salon brands are good. That would make it too easy on everyone!
A PH of 7 is neutral. The numbers below 7 are acid, and the numbers above are alkaline.
So both your Suave and your Schwarzkopf are non-alkaline.
I don't know a whole lot about it but I know that alkaline face washes are more likely to make you break out. |
